A great expanding follow up

A fine fellowship to the iron Druid

It was different enough to make it fun but near enough to scratch that itch for more Druid fun. Hopefully Atticus makes a significant showing.

Wasn’t what I was expecting but everything I expected

So I enjoy his other books, the sentinels of creation, and this was no exception. Similar character attributes and pop culture appreciation. What I expected from the blurb, and this is probably my fault in skimming it, was a more teen x-men/new mutants sci-if story. And although it has some of that in there it really is the journey of this team coming together.

My biggest fear was ending on a cliff hanger. The last few new series books I have read have done this to me and drives me nuts…. And I don’t bother to continue. But this comes to a satisfying conclusion that gives you a hint of where the…universe is going to go.

Looking forward to the next book.

Ends on a cliffhanger

I really hate a book that does not have an ending. I get it is part of a series but at least come to a resolution of the book and let me feel satisfied but wanting more.
Story is ok.
Characters are ok.
Would consider continuing but not wanting to invest the time to hit another cliffhanger.

Series stays fun!

This is a fun series. I am growing fond of the characters with every book as well as the unabashed cultural references.

A fun urban fantasy with some unique magics

I have enjoyed the cast of characters that have been growing as well as the magic system. Occasionally the author takes a left turn in the world building that is unexpected. But after a few chapters feel right at home. The portrayal of Lucifer is fun by both the author and the narrator.

If you are a fan of the Iron Druid series this should be right up your ally.

A bit too much violence against women.

I get you want some “these guys are bad”. But by the fifth time you mention how much you wanna rape a 13-15 year old girl “while she is bloom” I just get sick. And it losses its firefly feel.

The story would have been good otherwise. River felt meh. But otherwise it was ok.
