The People of Sparks picks up where The City of Ember leaves off. Lina and Doon have emerged from the underground city to the exciting new world above, and it isn't long before they are followed by the other inhabitants of Ember. The Emberites soon come across a town where they are welcomed, fed, and given places to sleep. But the town's resources are limited and it isn't long before resentment begins to grow between the two groups.

Where does The People of Sparks rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
The person who read this book is probably our least liked of any audiobook we have listened to. The story was great, but the reader made it lack a bit.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The People of Sparks?
Doon not going along with Tick and the others who wanted war.
Would you be willing to try another one of Wendy Dillon’s performances?
We would prefer not, but are going to be listening to The Diamonds of Darkhold and we haven't looked to see who is reading. Hoping it's not her!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not as much as others we have listened to.

As far as Holling's father is concerned, the Hoodhoods need to be on their best behavior: the success of Hoodhood and Associates depends on it.

What did you love best about The Wednesday Wars?
It wasn't predictable. The characters were so interesting & you felt like you knew them. This was a great book!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Hollingsworth, because you felt for him. We cheered when it went well for him & was sad when it didn't.

This book was very interesting & kept at a good speed. We enjoyed the little side notes about the people in the book.
What about Ed Hermann and Bill O'Reilly (introduction) ’s performance did you like?
It was nice to hear directly from the author.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The events that led up to the death of Lincoln. You knew what was going to happen, but it was sad to see it all in the big picture.
