I love how honest and real Cathy is in sharing her experiences as a carer.

And yet another winner by Cathy Glass. There is sadness in the need for foster care, but there is peace in knowing there are carers like Cathy giving these children the best chances possible.

Historia
Thrown Away Child is a memoir covering Louise Allen’s abusive childhood in a foster home, how she survived - using her love of art as a sanctuary - and how she hopes to right old wrongs now by fostering children herself and campaigning for the improvement of foster care services. It is a compelling and inspirational story. This book gives a voice to the many children who grew up unhappily in care.

Heartbreaking, honest, terrifyingly common
Revisado: 12-29-22
Listening to the horrors of Louis's upbringing will make you want to bring about VERY NECESSARY change in a system that is incredibly broken around the world.
