Historia
In the bestselling The Signal and the Noise, Nate Silver showed how forecasting would define the age of Big Data. Now, in this timely and riveting new book, Silver investigates "The River," or those whose mastery of risk allows them to shape—and dominate—so much of modern life. These professional risk takers—poker players and hedge fund managers, crypto true-believers and blue-chip art collectors—can teach us much about navigating the uncertainty of the 21st century.

Incredible
Revisado: 12-02-24
This may be the single most important book for understanding what the h— is happening in America right now. The amount of information Nate Silver was able to present in an understandable and even entertaining manner is truly incredible. I can not recommend it enough.

Historia
Iggy Peck is an architect at his very core: When he's not making houses out of food, his head is up in the clouds, dreaming of design. So he's totally blown away when Ada Twist's Aunt Bernice inherits an old house from ice cream mogul Herbert Sherbert that is filled with countless rooms from all his favorite architectural periods. But something's not quite right....

My daughter has loved this series since she was 2. All the other books are light and quirky. This one is scary for her - she literally ran away crying. She’s 5 1/2. I’m sure some kids could handle it and even enjoy it but it is definitely creepy. There are grave yards, shrieking dead ladies and lots of suspenseful events at the end of the chapters.
The story is also not as poignant without illusions since they describe these crazy rooms. Lots of architectural language. Pretty meh.
