Historia
For most of the last hundred years, Biloxi was known for its beaches, resorts, and seafood industry. But it had a darker side. It was also notorious for corruption and vice, everything from gambling, prostitution, bootleg liquor, and drugs to contract killings. The vice was controlled by small cabal of mobsters, many of them rumored to be members of the Dixie Mafia.

Slow moving
Revisado: 12-05-23
First disappointing novel I have read from Grissom. I kept waiting for the story to pickup and finally gave up with 5 hours left in audio book. I can’t say how the ending is but I can tell you the building up of the characters and the setup for the story is boring. I tried to get through it several times.

Historia
For Detective Sam Porter, the words "Father, forgive me" conjure memories long forgotten; a past intentionally buried. For Anson Bishop, these three words connect a childhood to the present as he unleashes a truth concealed for decades. Found written on cardboard near each body, these words link multiple victims to a single killer - discovered within minutes of each other in both Chicago and South Carolina - clearly connected yet separated by impossible miles.

Finally an original story plot
Revisado: 10-16-19
It has been a long time since I have read a unique story line. These 3 books were non stop thrills. There are twists and turns everywhere. Barker is truly a great author. Can't wait to see what's next!.

Disappointed, reads like a total different author
Revisado: 09-28-19
I do not typically write reviews. I felt the need to write on this one. I felt like I was duped on this book. The first book was non stop action and it had purpose. Book 2 had almost no action through the first half of the book. The constant redactions were a real distraction. Ray Porter as usual had a great performance. With the first book being so good and the second being poor, I wonder if the editor rushed Mr. Carr on book 2 to publish.

Historia
Common sense and prudence have long been among the guiding tenets of society, but in today's economy they have been completely abandoned in the interest of blindly maximizing profits. Common-Sense Business shows that this current economic model is both detrimental and unsustainable, and that we must transform the global economy along the lines of common sense toward the common good.

Underwhelming...Reminiscent of a college lecture
Revisado: 03-05-18
Would you try another book from Theodore Roosevelt Malloch and/or Jeff Cummings?
Theo no way. Jeff Cummings is the only reason I made it half way through.
What was most disappointing about Theodore Roosevelt Malloch’s story?
The lack of case studies or application of the 4 P's to real business
Any additional comments?
I was expecting some real insight to the behemoth story behind Cargil. What I got was was a lecture from my pasture on ethics and how business has changed with the newer generations. To me this was a book resistant to change.

Revisado: 01-10-17
If you could sum up The Last Tribe in three words, what would they be?
Finally Good Fiction
Any additional comments?
I found that I would drive the long way to wherever I was going just so I could listen to this book longer. Very good character development, realistic fiction, and a "page turner". Cannot wait for more books from this new author.

I miss the 80's...Never thought I would say that.
Revisado: 11-11-15
Would you listen to Ready Player One again? Why?
This book took me back to my nerd days, when PC's were still new and the commodore 64 had "Awesome Graphics". It has been a long time since I really enjoyed a book enough to talk about it. The references to 80's pop culture are infinite and nostalgic.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I could not stop listening to this book. I went to the gym just to get away and listen. A thanks to the author for helping me stay motivated in my work outs.
