Historia
Language defines us as a species, placing humans head and shoulders above even the most proficient animal communicators. But it also beguiles us with its endless mysteries, allowing us to ponder why different languages emerged, why there isn't simply a single language, how languages change over time and whether that's good or bad, and how languages die out and become extinct.

Fascinating!

Thoroughly enjoyed this course. I would not even classify myself as a hobby linguist but as a monolingual now living in a multilingual society it was incredibly interesting to see explained the multitude of levels on which languages differ. If you have tried to learn a second language as an adult and have struggled to do so with out knowing exactly why, you will find this imformative.

From the best-selling author of Assassination Vacation and Unfamiliar Fishes, a humorous account of the Revolutionary War hero Marquis de Lafayette - the one Frenchman we could all agree on - and an insightful portrait of a nation's idealism and its reality. Lafayette in the Somewhat United States is a humorous and insightful portrait of the famed Frenchman, the impact he had on our young country, and his ongoing relationship with instrumental Americans of the time.

Thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful examination of Lafayette's role in America's history. The Author does a fantastic job of exposing the patriotism, nobility, heroism, hypocrisy and paradox that is America's union and fight for freedom

Historia
In January 1956, a tragic story flooded headlines around the world. Five men, spurred by a passion to share the good news of Jesus Christ, ventured deep into the jungles of Ecuador. Their goal: to make contact with an isolated tribe whose previous response to the outside world had been to attack all strangers. Through Gates of Splendor, the story of Nate Saint, Roger Youderian, Ed McCully, Pete Fleming, and Jim Elliot, was first recorded in 1956 by Jim's widow, Elisabeth.

Historia
Historians have long told the story of America’s birth as the triumph of Jefferson’s democratic ideals over the aristocratic intentions of Hamilton. Chernow presents an entirely different man, whose legendary ambitions were motivated not merely by self-interest but by passionate patriotism and a stubborn will to build the foundations of American prosperity and power.

Must listen!!
Revisado: 05-26-20
After listening to biographical works on John Adams and Thomas Jefferson I felt compelled to get Hamilton's side of the story. I was not disappointed. What an amazing story, the highs and lows the successes and failures, but such a love and commitment to rhe America he loved. Truly an inspired genius, to whom all could look for inspiration to study and to seek to influence others through the presentation and defence of ideas. The book is incredibly well written and well read in this production. I leave feeling as though Alexander Hamilton is a dear friend to whom I owe much and cannot but mourn his passing.
