Martian 2.0? Not so much.

Not going to lie. Description had me excited and for the first quarter of the book I was very interested in finding out what happened along with the character. Reminded me a bit of Momento. Once you and the character figure out why he’s on an interstellar mission is pretty much straight shooting from that point on. Couple of, “oh crap” moments but otherwise nothing in comparison to The Martian. Very little laugh out loud moments or eyebrow raising problems that need solving. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

Likely a great book to read. Audio version leaves much to be desired. Narrator has obviously not done their research and mispronounces words. Chlorine’s elemental symbol is C L not C I. Molybdenum is pronounced Molib-denim not Moly-B-denim.
Sounds like an attempt to sound as close to “text to speech” apps as humanly possible.
