Easy for beginners to follow

As a seasoned homesteader, I was curious to see what was out there for books on the subject..... specifically those aimed at folks just starting out. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised when proper food preservation methods were discussed and pressure canning of low acid foods was strongly highlighted (I am a stickler for food safety). I did however feel that the sections dealing with what it costs to start up a homestead were random made up figures, or based on a very specific location, as the costs for feed, animals and such were way off.

Poorly researched material. I contradicted itself several times regarding well known facts of history. Also, the way that it is written, it jumps around a lot. I do NOT recommend it as a source for real history of the Vikings.
