I really loved this book. It went into detail on some of the things about imposter syndrome that we feel and our response mechanisms which were so true. I appreciated the advice on ways to deal with it, very practical. I anticipate to re-listen to many of these chapters as I continue to deal with issues around imposter syndrome.

The statement that stood out for me..to be white is to be able to choose. Spoke to so many issues about privilege and how it differentiates us all. Sometimes we are searching even if we don’t know that we are..a restlessness can carry across generations..so much depth too about how the words around us; spoken and unspoken can impact our life journeys. I grew to love the book..so glad I read it!

The book was a key but I feel like it had too many storylines and themes. The story about Hadasa dragged on for too long. It wasn’t a hopeful book is quite discouraging. It also tries to cover too many themes..abortion, marriage across religious segments, homosexuality, wen empowerment....At some point I just wanted to know how it ended. Might work for some though

I loooved the book! I felt like I was on a journey...traveling through history in a way I’ve never thought possible. Thank you..really, it explained so many things. I battled so many emotions..slave trade, segregation, being black in America. Life as it was in Africa how slave trade came to be, missionaries, colonialism, independence...or a version of it. The new generations searching for themselves..something that’s still happening. Great read. My son is 14 and I’d love for him to read this book.

This was a really nice book to read especially as a lady who’s trying to figure out her career on reentry. I can see my role as both a lady trying to inspire other women and also as a professional trying to build or mentor other woman looking to grow in their careers . Sandberg is quite frank in her writing and at times humorous in the way she presents her experiences which makes it all the more real for me as a mom, wife, professional, student and so much more. I would definitely encourage women to read this book.

I loved the action points. I intend to reread (re - listen) to this book until I have internalized the strategies. I also like the fact that they broke down some areas into age groups..easy to relate your current issue. I would have liked the author to include a bit more on teenage kids. Otherwise great book.
