Historia
Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park, ER, Twister, and Westworld, had a passion project he’d been pursuing for years, ahead of his untimely passing in 2008. Knowing how special it was, his wife, Sherri Crichton, held back his notes and the partial manuscript until she found the right author to complete it: James Patterson, the world’s most popular storyteller.

A rather childish story , at best
Revisado: 09-01-24
The story idea may have been fairly good, but the execution was not my idea of well written. Kind of a messy story line with a confusing cast of many and illogical end and worse.

A different story line with unexpected action.

CJ Box is usually a good read and he researches well. I've camped and fished Wyoming over the years And that generated a special "feel" this time around.

All unbelievable nonsense, says this one time sci-fi reader. There is not enough believable in the story to feel like one is not wasting time. Awful stuff.

Historia
So begins a press release from a mysterious group known only as “The Five,” shortly after a vicious predator is murdered in San Francisco. The Five is made up of vigilante killers who are very bored…and very rich. They target the worst of society—rapists, murderers, and thieves—and then use their unlimited resources to offset the damage done by those who they’ve killed, donating untraceable Bitcoin to charities and victims via the dark net. The Five soon become popular figures in the media …though their motives may not be entirely pure.

A bit less of the wonderful Lucas=Virgil dialogue.
Revisado: 11-16-22
While the usual dialogue was a bit less entertaining when compared to earlier Sandford novels, the overall effect is still very entertaining. The story line was unique and created, well,... creatively. There was no absence of mystery and unexpected turns, which is always Sandford's mark. And Richard Ferrone remains one of my few really favorite readers as he does his usual act; entertaining and with a tone always on key with the scene. Readers do not come any better.

Historia
Bob Reynolds doesn't recognize the body in the creek, but he does recognize the danger of it. He's a newcomer to town, not entirely welcome and not entirely on good footing with the sheriff. So far he's kept his head down, mostly over the bar at the Crow's Nest. But he has interests other than drinking and spending his inheritance, including one that goes by the name Tammy Fay Smith and who may have caught the sheriff's eye as well.

Historia
Joe Pickett is the new game warden in Twelve Sleep, Wyoming, a town where nearly everyone hunts and the game warden—especially one like Joe who won't take bribes or look the other way—is far from popular. When he finds a local hunting outfitter dead, splayed out on the woodpile behind his state-owned home, he takes it personally. There had to be a reason that the outfitter, with whom he's had run-ins before, chose his backyard, his woodpile to die in.

Decent enough to be entertaining
Revisado: 08-04-18
This is an older Joe Pickett novel, and tends to get a bit too wordy and drags out here and there. However, the story is still worthwhile entertainment and CJ Box has improved a lot in later efforts. Still, I'd recommend this book as perfectly listenable and decent entertainment. After all, we need to support guys like Joe Pickett.
