I cannot praise Voltaire enough. These are classic books for a reason. This is honestly the first time I have listened to or read anything by Voltaire and I cannot believe that I waited until now. He was a very forward-thinker for his time and everything about this collection screams that.
The narrator was very impressive. He was great with voice control and was able to bring life into the collection.

My name is Zoe Daniels, and I am a Monster Hunter. People in my line of work always have some sad stories that led them into this life. Not me. I like what I do, and I am good at my job. But mostly, I do it for the money. Girl’s gotta make a living, right? Down on her luck and desperate for work, Zoe met with Ms. Olson, a potential client, about a job to track and retrieve her grandson, a child named, E. The boy ran away from home and now wanders the streets of Detroit. Zoe is reluctant to take the job, reasoning it was a police matter.

I loved the main character Zoe. She was funny, smart and kick-a$$. She dominated this book with her personality.
The book kept me guessing and I loved every second of it. Zoe spends the book doing what she does best- hunting monsters for money. There were quite a few twists and turns and the ending was really good. The character of "E" was very interesting and not what I was expecting.
So why did I mark this as 4 stars, not 5? The narrator was pretty good but I found her accents to be rather lacking when she tried to add them in. Other than that, she did really well and I liked the way she performed.

Vampire Diaries? Twilight?
Revisado: 07-06-21
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
First off, the narration was pretty good. Unfortunately, she didn't try to hit any accents with the characters who should have had accents. They just sounded like everyone else. I can accept that. Sometimes, narrators can't hit accents (I guess) Everything else was ok. Average narrator for an average book.
The story:
Girl (Sam) gets into car accident (oh no. How sad) She is rescued by random person (Vampire Diaries anyone? Damon is that you!!??) She goes to the funeral of a family member and suddenly feels like she is being stalked (Hi Edward, how are you today?) She has to relocate to a new town with her dad, who buys her a car (does this sound familiar?) She instantly makes friends in her school, she is drawn to this "familiar stranger" guy Lucian. He is very Edward-y, complete with pale skin, weird family and he pops up everywhere she goes. She suddenly decides that she likes this guy, despite the fact that he is a Class A stalker. She learns that there is something different about this guy and it takes her all of 30 seconds to discover what his secret really is (Helllooooo Roswell!) and she is NOT weirded out by this alien twist, she still wants to try having a relationship with him.
To add to the very Twilight-y vibe we have going on, Lucian has many odd family members. Including a "sister" who instantly dislikes Sam (Does this remind us of Rosalie?). Everyone in the family is upset about the relationship between Lucian and Sam. They are all very disproving of the relationship and want the two characters to break up. Complete with physical fighting between the family and Lucian.
I didn't hate this book but I didn't like it either. It was a very been there/done that book. We already have one Twilight which was not amazing and now we have another knockoff Twilight in this book, but with aliens, rather than vampires.

This book starts off sounding like a sweet love story. Man dreams about beautiful woman. Man starts obsessing about the dream woman....Ok I am with you. Man suddenly realizes that aliens are real....wait whut?.....Man realizes that everyone in his life are deceiving him about the aliens.....wtf?.....Man discovers more about the aliens. Alright then.
The story was weird and took many random turns. There was no real conflict in the book. The main character (Zane) searches for his dream girl and gets random reveals. Everything just happened in a way that left me feeling rather unsatisfied with the story. There were "obstacles" which were way too easy to overcome and the antagonists were very easy to back down at a word from the main character.
The Narrator was top notch. I always seem to listen to books at around 1.4x but I had to speed up to 1.7x to get a better pace but overall, everything flowed smoothly. Everything about this narrator other than the speed was amazing and I will be finding more books narrated by him in the future.

This was another fantastic addition to the Hannibal Jones series. I have read others but I have never really listened to any of them as audiobooks. It was a good change for once!
The story was great with adventure, action, suspense and a bit of romance (but not too much). This one revolved around a Ponzi Scheme in which Hannibal is dragged into solving.

Good book like usual from this author! The quality of the writing is great and consistent through the entire series. This can't really be read as a stand-alone book though. I believe anyone listening to this or reading this book would be a bit lost when they try to get into it.
The narration was good but not one of my favorites. I had to speed it up quite a bit to get to a point where I didn't feel like it was dragging along.

Historia
Some religions state that the very universe was created by words. The nation of America was founded using words. Words established the rights and freedoms this nation enjoys. The first of those rights is freedom of speech, which implies so much more than the right to use words. This anthology contains four stories from four authors. Each story pays tribute to either the ideals held by America’s First Amendment or to the concept that the words people use hold power. These authors took the concept of words and placed it in futuristic, apocalyptic, and fantasy settings.

These short stories were a great collection. I love having short stories by different authors in one book. It always seems to shake things up a little bit.
These stories really spoke to me and I loved every second of them. Usually, I can't really connect too well with shorter stories but these ones all had me hooked from the moment I hit play. Very well done!

The narration was pretty good but a bit slow. I tend to listen to most books at around 1.4x but this one, I had to increase up to 1.6x. Other than that, the narrator was great!
The storyline flowed very well and I did not feel that I was missing anything as I listened. I am a big fan of supernatural, fantasy and thrillers so this book hit all of my buttons for a good story. It was dark, it was disturbing, it had great characters and a great storyline.

This author just doesn't seem to fail to bring a great story. The narrator once again hit it out of the park and I listened to this in one go. The characters are consistent from the first book to the second in their personalities and mannerisms.
The world building is just as amazing as the first one. Well done all the way around!

I loved everything about this book! The narrator was amazing, the storyline was great, the characters were well built. I am usually not a huge fan of books that bounce between different timelines but that was not the case here. The author was able to do it seamlessly and without any issues.
This is a great story about King Arthur and his knights. Even if you are not into the King Arthur stories, you will like this one!
