Historia
With The Barbarian Nurseries, Héctor Tobar gives our most misunderstood metropolis its great contemporary novel, taking us beyond the glimmer of Hollywood and deeper than camera-ready crime stories to reveal Southern California life as it really is, across its vast, sunshiny sprawl of classes, languages, dreams, and ambitions.

What did you like best about The Barbarian Nurseries? What did you like least?
It showed nicely how each person lives in their own world and really has no idea of the others around him. Reading this one must think "How can anyone or a group of people be so stupid. What about communication?????
However, I actually have seen such stupidity around me in real life.
What did you like best about this story?
was quite entertaining
Which character – as performed by Frankie J. Alvarez – was your favorite?
they where all excellent
Do you think The Barbarian Nurseries needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
I think it needs a different title. As far as a follow up ??? follow two different stories, the family and the housekeeper? Could be interesting.
Any additional comments?
Where did the House keeper end up???????

Historia
What is at stake is far from insignificant: it is how one should live one's life. Plato's The Republic is widely acknowledged as the cornerstone of Western philosophy. Presented in the form of a dialogue between Socrates and three different interlocutors, it is an inquiry into the notion of a perfect community and the ideal individual within it. During the conversation, other questions are raised: What is goodness? What is reality? What is knowledge?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
contains some pretty good ideas
Who was your favorite character and why?
no character
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
I did not like that one was doing all the talking while the other just said yes, aha and agreed. Am I suppose to think that everyone was stupid and only Socrates (Plato) new the answers and then they just agreed to everything? I expected more
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No, but it gave some good ideas and truth.

What made the experience of listening to Black House the most enjoyable?
the detailed laying out of the characters and the whole ground work for the story which was actually longer than the the story. However I kind of missed Stephen Kings clear and pinpoint karate chaps (in words)
Who was your favorite character and why?
Jack Sawyer because he seemed together, of good character,
What does Frank Muller bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
detail description so one can almost picture it.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Black House of Horrors
Any additional comments?
I am not so sure about the children. That makes me think of dirty old Men.

Historia
In 1971, President Nixon imposed national price controls and took the United States off the gold standard, an extreme measure intended to end an ongoing currency war that had destroyed faith in the U.S. dollar. Today we are engaged in a new currency war, and this time the consequences will be far worse than those that confronted Nixon. Currency wars are one of the most destructive and feared outcomes in international economics.
