Fantastic!
Revisado: 03-21-25
I'm usually not the biggest fan of Christmas themed horror or creepypasta, but the fact that this was very down to Earth and a crime story made it so much better than the over the top supernatural attempts other writers create.

It is absolutely so amazing to have an unabridged version of this top-tier Star Wars novel. I loved every second of this, and plan to hop right into Kenobi. Expanded Universe keeps proving that it's truly superior to anything Disney has created.

Writer Ben Mears has returned to his hometown of Jerusalem's Lot with the hope that moving into a delapidated mansion, long the subject of town lore, might help him get a handle on his life and provide inspiration for a new book. But when two young boys venture into the woods and only one comes out alive, Mears begins to realize that there may be something sinister at work.

Settle in for a slow, slow burn.
Revisado: 01-02-25
For being King's second novel ever published, this was absolutely fantastic. Great cast of characters, and one of the best vampire stories ever written. My only gripe is how long it takes for things to start picking up. I always appreciate King giving us enough information to feel like we lived in these towns, and the people were once our very own neighbors. But when it takes eight plus hours for the plot to pick up its feet, I have to start taking breaks from the book. Also, child abuse turns my stomach, wasn't a big fan of those scenes lol.

Historia
Se7en meets The Silence of the Lambs in this dark and twisting novel from the author Jeffery Deaver called "a talented writer with a delightfully devious mind". For over five years, the Four Monkey Killer has terrorized the residents of Chicago. When his body is found, the police quickly realize he was on his way to deliver one final message, one that proves he has taken another victim, who may still be alive.

Easy five stars!
Revisado: 12-06-24
Everything you could want from a serial killer, detective novel. The description of "Seven meets Silence of the Lambs" is very very accurate. I loved all of the characters. The cop banter was actually humorous and not cringey. The pacing was absolutely perfect, no time wasted on unnecessary dialogue or scenes in general. 4MK is such an interesting villain as well, you always want to know what he's going to do next and say next in his diary. One of the best books I've read/listened to this year.

Great horror, but the ending was meh.
Revisado: 11-05-24
The Doc did a great narration as always, but I am personally not a huge fan of endings where kids are ripped limb from limb.

Three years ago, Lift asked a goddess to stop her from growing older—a wish she believed was granted. Now, in Edgedancer, the barely teenage nascent Knight Radiant finds that time stands still for no one. Although the young Azish emperor granted her safe haven from an executioner she knows only as Darkness, court life is suffocating the free-spirited Lift, who can't help heading to Yeddaw when she hears the relentless Darkness is there hunting people like her with budding powers. The downtrodden in Yeddaw have no champion, and Lift knows she must seize this

A charming and humorous interlude from the main novels, absolutely fantastic!
Revisado: 10-25-24
Lift is such a lovable dork, her free nature and playfulness remind me a lot of Tasslehoff Burfoot from the Dragonlance novels. Her dynamic with Wendell is so fun. Sanderson never falters when it comes to meaningful character growth. The postscript warmed my heart, because it's so refreshing to hear a creator care about keeping continuity clear and organized in their series. Downloading Book 3 now!

Sanderson is a genius.
Revisado: 10-16-24
I cannot believe how good this book truly is. Sanderson's CONSISTENCY is one of the biggest attributes that makes him a master class fantasy author. All of the character development, the story pacing, the plot twists and mysteries are masterfully organized and placed exactly where they need to be. Justices being served to those we grew to despise from the first novel. Watching our heroes grow and evolve into something even greater, while the danger and darkness do the same. The final battle of this novel was nothing short of epic, and Kaladin Stormblessed in one of my all-time favorite fictional characters. Again, Sanderson is nothing short of a top-tier autbor who creates stories worthy of the highest praise imaginable. I will be starting book three immediately!

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

An absolute masterpiece! Best book I've heard/read in two years!
Revisado: 09-26-24
The futility of reading/listening to the unfinished A Song of Ice & Fire series led me to this godsend of a novel. A very unique world with lore that is very mysterious and interesting. Absolutely UNFORGETTABLE characters. Not one character felt out of place or unnecessary. The Shardblades and Shardplate are so damn cool, I almost want a blade as bad as I want a Lightsaber! The "magic" in this book is very cool and almost anime-esque in battle, especially when listening to Szeth's scenes. The final scenes of this book were everything I wanted, and I am immediately starting book two. It's nice when you stumble upon a series so good that it develops into an addiction!

Very good haunted house story!
Revisado: 06-11-24
Man, I really didn't expect this one to go in the direction it did. Which is 100% a good thing. The ending was honestly very cool, and I wish there were some more story! The house and backstory would make for a nice novel length tale in my opinion.
