Historia
The truth is still out there. The iconic hit that had millions searching for UFOs back in the 90s is now an exhilarating audio event, only from Audible. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reunite as FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, joining an ensemble of original cast members in an out-of-this-world production.

All of the sound effects made it impossible for me to listen. Very disappointed because I was looking forward to a good story.

Historia
There's a damsel in distress and accusations of attempted murder flying around, but it's not in the comfortable confines of the English countryside; it's in the very distant city of Damascus. Lennox must go and investigate, although he's not too keen on exotic locations, and his old retainer Greggs is distinctly averse to the very idea. Nevertheless, ex-Chief Inspector Swift persuades them, and they reach the ancient city to discover a movie crew, a spy, and a couple of mysterious ladies.

Absolutely delightful.

Just finished this fourth and last book in this series on Audible. I do hope there will be more. I’ve become thoroughly attached to the main characters. Will re-read of course but continuing the saga would be even better. Oh yes, quite good yarns and excellent narration too.

Fun. Major Heathcliff Lennox is definitely not Sherlock Holmes. But he is a clever country gent who jumps into the art of sleuthing with enthusiasm.

After getting shot in the line of duty, New Jersey state police officer Doug Brock has been busy rebuilding his life. He's reunited with his fiancé and started to get some of his memories back. He hopes he can continue to recover with the help of an amnesia support group and that the damage from his past isn't permanent. It isn't until fellow group member Sean Conner approaches him after a meeting that Doug realizes the trouble is just beginning. Sean has discovered in his attic what can only be called a scrapbook of a murder victim, but he has no recollection of the girl's identity.

I liked this book ...
Revisado: 05-22-20
... not so much. I enjoyed the Andy Carpenter series quite a lot. But after 2 books, I’m quite bored with Brock. And although the narrator Fred Berman has recorded many, many books, I found his voice grating. But then, that could just be my preference. Just recommend listening to sample before purchase.

Historia
Corey Douglas and his K-9 partner, Simon Garfunkel, have recently retired from the police force. Not ready to give up the life yet, they come up with a proposal for fellow former cop, Laurie Carpenter, and her investigating partner, Marcus. They call themselves the K Team, in honor of Simon. Their first job as private investigators comes to them from Judge Henry Henderson, who's known as a very tough but fair judge, and they've all come up against him in court at one time or another. Though it's hard to believe, Judge Henderson is being blackmailed and extorted.

Definitely was looking forward to this spinoff from the Andy Carpenter series. Unfortunately, I have great difficulty with Fred Berman’s voice, performance. Have to admit that I’m very picky about my narrators but I will seriously hesitate purchasing another book narrated by Berman.

Historia
Joe Pike didn't expect to rescue a woman that day. He went to the bank same as anyone goes to the bank, and returned to his Jeep. So when Isabel Roland, the lonely young teller who helped him, steps out of the bank on her way to lunch, Joe is on hand when two men abduct her. Joe chases them down, and the two men are arrested. But instead of putting the drama to rest, the arrests are only the beginning of the trouble for Joe and Izzy.

Disappointed
Revisado: 02-01-20
I had to push myself to finish this. Plot over-the-top predictable. However, it was the narration that made it so difficult to keep listening. It was as if the narrator strained to make the voices “interesting “. Instead he ended up with bizarre.

Historia
Appie Knoll is the kind of suburb where kids grow up right. But something is wrong. Fourteen-year-old Kevin Bartlett disappears. Everyone thinks he's run away -- until the comic strip ransom note arrives. It doesn't take Spenser long to get the picture -- an affluent family seething with rage, a desperate boy making strange friends...friends like Vic Harroway, body builder. Mr. Muscle is Spenser's only lead and he isn't talking...except with his fists

Early Spenser
Revisado: 12-05-19
I’m enjoying going back to early Parker books. It’s fun to watch the characters evolve.
I almost quit reading because I found the narrator ‘s voice grating. I’m glad I didn’t because about halfway through Prichard’s voice became Spenser’s voice for me.

Historia
Jesse Stone is back on the job after a stint in rehab, and the road to recovery is immediately made bumpy by a series of disturbing and apparently racially motivated crimes, beginning with the murder of an African American woman. Then, Jesse's own deputy Alisha - the first black woman hired by the Paradise police force - becomes the target of a sophisticated frame-up. As he and his team work tirelessly to unravel the truth, he has to wonder if this is just one part of an even grander plot, one with an endgame more destructive than any of them can imagine.

As a Parker fan for decades, I find Coleman’s creation of his characters and style superlative. Character development and stories are spot on.
And special thanks to narrator James Naughton for his special ability to bring it all to life.

I've enjoyed previous books in this series more. The plot line in High Treason deals with a very messy White House. However, considering today's messy reality, perhaps I simply didn't enjoy the story.
