Historia
Alex Sand was spending the evening at home playing basketball with his two young sons when all three were shot in cold blood. A wealthy federal judge, there’s no short list of people who could have a vendetta against Sands, but the gruesome murders, especially that of his children, turn their St. Paul community on its head. Sand was on the verge of a major donation to a local housing charity, Heart/Twin Cities, and with the money in limbo, eyes suddenly turn to his grieving widow, Margaret Cooper, to see what she might do with the money.

What a difference a narrator makes
Revisado: 10-06-23
Richard Ferrone made all the difference. I would swear this book was written by a different author. The story had no flow and could not hold together. It's hard to keep up with the story and the characters are totally different now. I can hardly finish this.

I really tried to get through it, but I gave up
Revisado: 06-29-23
I really tried, but this book is so boring, predictable and unoriginal. It drags on and on. Another one I would return. I had to jsut quit because it was too agonizing to listen to.

Historia
After getting canned from the Seattle PD, brilliant, wisecracking Thomas Prescott follows his sister Lacy to Philadelphia, where she swims on the Drexel University team. While Thomas’s slapstick antics mask a keen analytic mind, it’s his nose for trouble that leads him again and again into dicey situations. The ex–homicide detective is not long in Philly before getting caught up in two high-powered criminal cases. Thomas stumbles into a crime scene amid the Occupy Philadelphia protests. Activist Brooke Wexley has been strangled within sight of city hall.

Unfortunately, I can't return this but I can't believe this was published as a book. Story is unrealistic, goofy and just plain difficult to listen to.

Very hard to wade through
Revisado: 08-02-16
What would have made Mystic River better?
The story drags on and on with useless mundane details. Makes for a very boring listen.
Would you ever listen to anything by Dennis Lehane again?
No
Would you listen to another book narrated by Scott Brick?
Yes
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The story could have been interesting if it were written so the story moved without repeated litany of unrelated wanderings.

What would have made Make Me better?
Dick Hill in his normal narration
Has Make Me turned you off from other books in this genre?
No
Any additional comments?
I bought this book solely because Dick Hill was the narrator and I have enjoyed his previous books. I don't know why he decided to change his style for this book, but It was almost unbearable.
