Historia
On an island in the Great Massasauga Swamp—an area known as “The Waters” to the residents of nearby Whiteheart, Michigan—herbalist and eccentric Hermine “Herself” Zook has healed the local women of their ailments for generations. As stubborn as her tonics are powerful, Herself inspires reverence and fear in the people of Whiteheart, and even in her own three estranged daughters. The youngest—the beautiful, inscrutable, and lazy Rose Thorn—has left her own daughter, eleven-year-old Dorothy “Donkey” Zook, to grow up wild.

Lovely book
Revisado: 01-24-24
This book is beautiful, you can see the words as they form the image. The Author tells the story and it’s one of longing and love . The unfairness of the world we live in and how we still raise despite the things that are thrown at us. I enjoyed every minute.

This could have been the best book, he could have told more stories and talked about his amazing adventures. He has a gift of making us see the beauty in the world. BUT.. the religious aspect of this book is ridiculous I had to fast forward through most of it. It was like a bible school lesson.

Historia
Daisy is a girl coming of age in LA in the late '60s, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s 20, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne.

Great book
Revisado: 08-07-22
This book is very good , brought out so many feelings. Shows that we are all struggling in different ways just trying to figure life out in general. The narrator was fantastic as well. I laughed and cried. Hated for it to end it was that good! Nothing like a hallmark movie as some reviews have said and all my friends loved it as well even my friend that is also a therapist. My daughter loved it too and that says a lot.
