This is one of the spiciest books I've read that simultaneously manages to advance the plot and develop all characters. I will be continuing in the Abbs Mills series til there are no books left. So glad to have found Ames Mills!

First I'd like to say I never write reviews. When I tell you the smut was smutting yet managed to be tasteful while simultaneously advancing the plot, baby. If you're a why choose, down for ⚔️, and MM with a mafia lean well you're in for a treat. The narrators put their foot in this one (means they gave it their all). Bravo Ames Mills, you've got a new fan!

So funny and moderately spicy

I absolutely adore this author. This book takes place in the same universe as her MM vampire series and it was so rewarding having read all of them to see some old friends. It's a comfortable listen where the drama isn't overly dramatic. I can't wait for the second book to be narrated. Thank you Grae!

Life changing

Immediately I was able to see all the parenting mistakes we are making. Though well intentioned, none of our strategies were helping our ADHD child. I can't wait to enact all the advice/strategies/tools presented in this text. Also, while listening I realized that I likely have undiagnosed ADHD. I'm working with a psychiatrist an undergoing testing for ADHD and OCD. For the first time I feel like I understand why my child responds the way he does. For the first time I feel HOPE.

I don't know what to say other than this was such a wonderful read/experience. Just when you think you know how these books go, Fairlane comes along and adds so much depth to the entire world of Elan. I have come to love Fairlane as much as I love Royce and Hadrian!!! Didn't think that was possible. Thank you Michael!

Incredibly sexist

I'm not overly sensitive yet I found this book over the top chauvinistic. The story is decent and there are a lot of surprises, but the 'every woman is a sexy or ugly or stupid or a slut' angle is hard to take. I'd just finished his light bringer series which I'm obsessed with and it feels like a totally different author penned that series.
I would skip this and go right to the light ringer series!!

Even better then book one

This was an amazing sequel. I liked the series so much that I purchased this book since they had only 1 and 3 until only a couple days ago. I have never had a book stress me out before because I was worried about the characters, and somehow this book triggered these irrational thoughts. Sanderson isn't the "best" writer. However he tells such a good story that it completely sucks you in. There are almost no sections of the book that don't have you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommended. This and A Song of Ice and Fire are two of the best fantasy series on audible.

The more I listen the less happens

I've never listened to a series with such little plot progression in my life. I have a feeling if Jordon was still alive there would have been 10 more books. The audio glitches are just a slight annoyance. What is more annoying is how little is said with so many words. I don't mind the detail in what people are wearing etc. What I do mind is the mindless chatter or thinking that causes the plot to move along at a snails pace. The only interesting parts in this whole book were Matt's story and the last 30 minutes. Nothing of importance happens in the entire story except for the very end. The only reason I listen to these stories now is because I invested so much time already and care about the 3 main Emminsfield boys. The other 4000 useless characters are beyond boring. Way to much time is spent with Nineve, she is so one dimensional its sickening. How is every single influential character still alive? Nineve having her head chopped off by a trollic would be the best thing to ever happen to this series.

Want these types of stories but full of content and not useless dribble? Search A Song of Ice and Fire. Now thats a series that is well worth your time.

I want my 300+ hours of my life back.
