Historia
Ellie Fisher loves most things about being a nurse in the emergency department . . . just not working with Regina Novak, an icy attending physician who acts as if she's God's gift to medicine. The dislike is completely mutual. Regina thinks Ellie is a starry-eyed romantic with a sentimental attitude that has no place at work. When Regina gets talked into volunteering at a singles auction, Ellie accidentally bids on her—and ends up winning. Oops! Since the money raised is for a good cause, they reluctantly decide to go through with the dates.

Great characters and storyline

Loved the hospital setting. The characters were likable, relatable and the narrator was fantastic. Really fun listen.

I didn’t want it to end
Revisado: 08-15-22
A raw, vulnerable story that I’ve listened to multiple times. Briana pulls you into the most tender parts of her heart as she brilliantly paints the kaleidoscope of events that have carried her and the dogs across the desert. You’ll cry, you’ll laugh, you’ll re-examine some of your own perspectives and ultimately you’ll want to listen to it all over again.

Historia
Carol Ruckdeschel is the wildest woman in America. She eats road kill, wrestles alligators, rides horses bareback, and lives in a ramshackle cabin that she built herself in an island wilderness. She’s had three husbands and many lovers, one of whom she shot and killed in self-defense. A combination of Henry David Thoreau and Jane Goodall, Carol is a self-taught scientist who has become a tireless defender of sea turtles on Cumberland Island, a national park off the coast of Georgia.

A MUST Read! (Or listen)
Revisado: 09-26-19
Carol is an unsung hero for the natural world and her work should be as exalted as her peers such as Jane Goodall, Diane Fossey, and the like.
Her grit, tenacity, boldness, and passion to fight for our earth and the animals we share it with is both refreshing and exhilarating. She is an absolute treasure. It’s impossible to hear her story and not be moved to take stock of one’s own role as either part of the solution or part of the problem, to see nature through a kaleidoscope lens of awe, wonder, and a sense of duty to protect it.
I can’t recommend this book highly enough.
