Wonderful for dog lovers!!!

This book made me smile, laugh, and cry. Dogs are the most wonderful of beings and this book really appreciates the dog-human connection. A must-read if you love or have ever loved a dog.

Amazing story

Who knew that there was this much to learn about the world-famous photo of the flag raising on Iwo Jima? The story was fascinating and well-told. So much of the fighting on Iwo was difficult to listen to, but that is the reality of war.

Wah!!!

It was interesting to hear Harry’s take on his life.
However, he is not convincing at painting himself as the victim. He blatantly does things that he accuses others of doing (i.e. telling things that should be kept private). His portrayal of his wife as a 100% innocent is also not believable.

The narration is a gem!

Great biography on such an interesting lady.
The real gem of this audio book is the narration, which is done by the author. She reads it like she is speaking directly to you and is telling you the story of a life that she has thoroughly researched and cares deeply about. Her British accident is wonderful to listen to as well,

Unfortunate change of narrator

This book has the same great characters, humor and mystery as the previous TMC books. Unfortunately, the magnificent narrator from the first two books was replaced by a whispery and less engaging one. Bring back the original narrator please!

Bob Goff is such a likable person. His voice is friendly and his words are very intelligent and wise. It was also nice how he gives us reassurance about the love of God and Jesus in our lives.
I highly recommended this book!

Captivating story

I always loved Chris Farley, so hearing his story in the words of those who knew him well was captivating! Such an amazing, but ultimately sad life.
The female narrator on this book was terrible! She tried too hard to be an actress in all her different roles and came across as highly annoying. The male narrator was good though.

This is a good and intricate mystery. Add to that endearing characters and British humor. The narrator is absolutely perfect and really makes this audio book perfection. I highly recommend this book!!!

Masterfully written!

I read a lot of books and I listen to a lot of audio books. I seldom run across fiction as well written as this book. It is a real gem! I also thought that the narration was very effective.

Unfortunate Overenthusiastic Narration

What an amazing story! I had always known that her early life was impacted by the war, but I had no idea how much! Audrey Hepburn was a beautiful person inside and out. What an incredible life she led!

Unfortunately, this story is mostly ruined by the narration. The narrator reads the story like she is trying to be the greatest stage actor of all time, employing a quivering voice during emotional scenes, and trying to mimic Audrey’s voice for dialogue. It just does not work for an audio book. It was excruciating to get through.

My advice is to read this great book instead of listen to the audio book.
