Bubble-tea-obsessed college girl Lakelynn Frost has 365 days to make the world's most famous pop star fall in love with her. If she can't do it, an old family curse will kill them both. It might be a problem since she can't get tickets to any of his sold-out concerts. Should Lake chase after him with only her grumbly brother Joules for company? Check items off her bucket list like Uncle Jack? Plan her own funeral like Aunt Clara? But Lake's a fighter. And this curse? It comes with magical meet-cutes.

Amazing narration
Revisado: 02-12-25
Loved the conclusion to the story. All of the characters were well developed and fun to follow. Both narrators were excellent at creating different voices for the characters. When a character began to speak, especially the males, I knew instantly who they were. I’ve not listened to an audiobook with Keong Sim as a narrator. I’ve only ever known him as an actor. Now, I feel like we need more books voiced by him right now. His choice of voices for the characters dropped me right into the scenes. I could feel their emotions and picture their expressions. I want more, more, more! I would love it if he voiced more books, especially if they were by C.M. Stunich. Vivienne Kells was a great narrator for the female characters as well. I loved this pairing. Also, the duet narration style is my favorite. Loved how these two played off one another. A perfect pairing for an amazing book.

When single mother Liv is commissioned to paint a mural in a 100-year-old lighthouse on a remote Scottish island, it's an opportunity to start over with her three daughters - Luna, Sapphire, and Clover. When two of her daughters go missing, she's frantic. She learns that the cave beneath the lighthouse was once a prison for women accused of witchcraft. The locals warn her about wildlings, supernatural beings who mimic human children, created by witches for revenge. Liv is told wildlings are dangerous and must be killed.

Wonderful story
Revisado: 04-24-23
The author really drew me into the story. I ended up finishing it in one day with a lot of sleep deprivation the next day. It was well worth it! I’m going to check out the rest of her novels as this one was so good. If you love a little mystery and magic and enjoy a good family relationship story, I think you’ll love this book.

Unoriginal and no chemistry
Revisado: 03-14-15
I listened to this book based on the good reviews. I was very disappointed. The author has a very poor vocabulary and I felt like I was reading a novel for children instead of young adults. She uses the same words over and over in her descriptions. I felt taking a red pen to every time she used the word intoxicating. The author couldn't convey the supposed chemistry between the main characters either. It felt so cliche and unoriginal. I couldn't even feel for the character Sophia and all she was enduring. I wanted to slap her silly and tell her to get a clue and stop being such a victim. The whole idea of taking the abuse to "protect" others was so absurd in her case that I felt nothing but frustration. I wish the author had built her characters better. A little fire to fight back would have been nice. Sophia makes Bella Swan seem like a super hero compared to this girl.

Story and narrator are a perfect match.
Revisado: 04-07-13
Would you listen to Requiem again? Why?
Yes, I was so caught up in the story and Sarah's performance that I would listen to it again to catch parts I may have missed in all the excitement.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the way the author created the environment for the story. I was able to see the hardship and even at times smell the odors she was describing.
What does Sarah Drew bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I loved the emotion that she brought to the characters. Her voice would hitch in the right places and she would shout when the characters were shouting. Her performance brought the story to life for me. I would get so caught up I could see the scene playing out like a movie in my mind. Sarah is my new favorite narrator. I can't wait to listen to more books narrated by her.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
"Take down the walls." That was one of the last quotes from the book.
Any additional comments?
It's a breath of fresh air to read a book by an author who can paint such real environments and fill them with emotional scenes that draw the reader in. I loved her characters and I could identify with all of them at one time or another. The fact that they were all flawed and not perfect made the story come alive for me. I can't wait to read more books by Lauren in the future. Sarah Drew was a perfect narrator for the series. She kept the story going with her wonderful acting skills. No one has brought the characters to life for me as much as Sarah has.
