Historia
When Angela met Jason Powell while catering a dinner party in East Hampton, she assumed their romance would be a short-lived fling, like so many relationships between locals and summer visitors. To her surprise, Jason, a brilliant economics professor at NYU, had other plans, and they married the following summer. For Angela, the marriage turned out to be a chance to reboot her life. She and her son were finally able to move out of her mother's home to Manhattan, where no one knew about her tragic past.

Worth the credit! Get it!
Revisado: 10-14-22
This was an amazing audiobook! The characters were developed so well that I felt I knew them. I don’t know why people are bashing the main character, Angela, for making dumb decisions or why people are saying the ending was a flop. Angela did the best she could given her circumstances and is a true survivor. I can’t say I agree with all of her decisions, but she definitely chose herself and her son over everyone else. The ending was a total surprise but not unbelievable. It just changes your perspective on what you thought was happening, which is hard to do while still maintaining the integrity of the story. It did leave me wondering if there would be a 2nd book to continue this story. Great book and excellent narrator (though I did have to slow her speed a bit). Worth the credit! Get it!

Very disappointed
Revisado: 04-06-22
This story dragged on from the beginning. I thought it would pick up but it didn’t. And the ending left me feeling like “What the heck was I just listening to?” There’s no twist at the end like you would expect, but just a confusing, poorly put together ending that really made no sense. The only good thing was the narrator, who was easy to listen to.

Worth listening to!!
Revisado: 03-20-22
I don’t understand all the negative reviews as this was a GREAT book to listen to with many unforeseen things. Although I had some things figured out, there were other things I couldn’t have predicted. And the “weak” girl or “damsel in distress” that’s been mentioned by other reviewers was someone dealing with depression who was also being drugged. It’s hard to break away from that when you have no one else to turn to and are also not in your right mind because of the drugs. The narration was outstanding as well. Definitely worth a listen to!

It surprised me how much I liked this story, given that it was from one person’s perspective. I found myself agreeing with the character and her thought processes for her decisions. It kept me so intrigued that I finished it in just a few days. I wish it hadn’t ended as I really liked her tenacity and wanted to see what would happen next. I’d definitely purchase another book from this author.

Trigger warning!
Revisado: 01-09-22
I’m surprised no one has mentioned this in the reviews but there are a lot of self harm incidents (cutting), which could be a trigger for some people. Overall, the story was ok. Kept me interested enough. I liked the different narrators and the stories of all the different characters from teenagers to middle age to the elderly. If this book hadn’t been free I might’ve been disappointed at a used credit. Otherwise it’s ok.

Definitely a great read!
Revisado: 01-04-22
I found this book by searching up Katie Villa as the narrator. She does and INCREDIBLE job narrating. And she doesn't disappoint with this book! Although I could predict some things that were going to happen, there were other things that still surprised me. I enjoyed the back and forth perspectives between mother, daughter and granddaughter. This story had me riveted right from the beginning to the very end. I literally gasped on the last sentence! I would say this author is comparable to K.L. Slater, Lucy Dawson and Mary Kubica. I hope she comes out with more!!!

The most exciting book of the series!!
Revisado: 08-23-21
I love the way both books 1 & 2 were part of this story. There were some things left unanswered in book 2, that were continued in this book. Everything tied together nicely and there was A LOT of drama, action, etc going on in this book and it didn’t disappoint! I liked this book best of all!! And I literally gasped at the end. It was soooo good!

Revisado: 04-11-21
This is the 2nd book I’ve listened to and am just as amazed as the first (The girl you gave away)! This really did have some twists and turns and had you literally guessing til the end. There’s no way anyone could figure out what really happened because it has you thinking one person is a bad guy when really it’s this other. Who’s lying and who’s telling the truth? Kept me entertained the whole time.

It will surprise you til the very end!!!
Revisado: 02-06-21
This story consists of 3 sisters and a daughter. It goes back and forth through time, with two different POVs. It was a little confusing for me at times but that could be because I was also reading Three Wishes by Liane Moriarty at the same time (which also consists of 3 sisters). This story is full of tragedy, deception, regret, love and hope. It was a little slow going for me at times but I’m glad I stuck it out to the end. There are a few twists and turns within but the end had many more unexpected revelations. It all makes sense and leaves you thinking that things happen for a reason. If anything in the past had changed (which at times I found myself saying “If only...”) it would have been a completely different life for everyone. Even days after I finished this book, I was still wondering if everything was going to be ok with the characters. I felt I knew them so well and hoped they had a good life afterwards. Also, I must mention that the narrator was GREAT! She got the voices down pat, to where I always knew who was talking. All in all, this was a great story and definitely worth the credit or $$!!
