In AD 2600, the human race is finally beginning to realize its full potential. Hundreds of colonized planets scattered across the galaxy host a multitude of prosperous and wildly diverse cultures. Genetic engineering has pushed evolution far beyond nature's boundaries, defeating disease and producing extraordinary spaceborn creatures. Huge fleets of sentient trader starships thrive on the wealth created by the industrialization of entire star systems, and throughout inhabited space the Confederation Navy keeps the peace.

Historia
As a child, Chris Hooper dreamed of monsters. But in deep space, he found only darkness and isolation. Then, on planet LV178, he and his fellow miners discovered a storm-scoured, sand-blasted hell - and trimonite, the hardest material known to man. When a shuttle crashes into the mining ship Marion, the miners learn that there was more than trimonite deep in the caverns. There was evil, hibernating and waiting for suitable prey.

Alien and Aliens were always my favorites. This book fits and was well produced and written.
Performance was excellent.
Actress who voiced Ripley did an amazing job, often thought it was Sigourney.

Different dystopia

Don't expect monsters and massive death. This version is actually more real, more to heart.

Historia
Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

Pure Stephen King
Revisado: 11-24-15
There have been mixed reviews posted and I had to chime in.
Mr King is stretching artistically into areas of fiction and mystery, but understanding this I've not been disappointed yet.
He is a craftsman of character development and complex plots.
Here he boldly revisits his classic "Shining".
Several times in the reading I had to take a break as the intensity was too much.
Thanks for a great ride Mr King.

C.J.Critt

Many have posted a poor review of C.J. Critt however I find her voice to be very reminiscent of early Hollywood actresses like Lauren Bacall.
Once recognizing that style I found her performance to be very nice.
