Great stories
Revisado: 12-14-22
well-woven tale, as usual. I've listened to it twice now, and it only seems to get better over time. forgive Mr golemon a few peccadilloes and pet peeves and you will find all of his stories well-written and superbly blended and intertwined, but extremely entertaining.
go to www.bookseriesinorder.com, enter his name where appropriate, and start reading from the first novel. you'll enjoy them all.

The Thing About Magic
Revisado: 08-13-22
The thing about magic is that you can do just about anything, with anybody, from any time.
Let your imagination run Wylde with Silvers. He stretched the Suspension Bridge of Disbelief to its limits, and it still works.
I can't wait for the next one.

Historia
A thousand years have passed since a dragon has been seen in the world. Science and technology have replaced magic, which has dwindled until it has become little more than an element of myth and legend. There are those who still have dragon blood flowing through their veins, distant descendants of the mighty creatures of old. These rare humans have the power to cast magic, the power to heal, and the power to craft alchemical weapons capable of starting wars...or ending them.

Enunciate, dang it!
Revisado: 03-18-22
The story is pretty good and this is the second or third time I’ve heard it. The narrator could use some help, though. While she manages to keep all of the voices separate, she seems to have trouble enunciating words like, curtain, certain, threaten, couldn’t, and mountain. She can’t say the “t”s in those words. This isn’t a comprehensive list. Still, it’s a good listen if you have a little patience.

Not bad, but not great
Revisado: 02-27-22
The Arcadian Genesis is about how Alex Hunter gained some special powers. I hope the second book explains what they are. The narrator is a little monotonous after listening to Renee Auberjonois narrate Preston-Child's Pendergast stories. I had to turn the speed up to 1.30, where I usually slow them down to .90 or .95. It's a decent story, along the lines of a David Lynn Golemon but without quite as much synchrony... so far. My wife likes it so I'll give Beck another listen and hope.

Love the story
Revisado: 11-08-21
Love every story by this author. The writing is pretty good, but the story premise is unique, considering how it was released 2006 and DUMBs and Maglevs were unknown to the general public.

Historia
Years have passed since the end of the War of the Lance. The people of Ansalon have rebuilt their lives, their houses, their families. The Companions of the Lance, too, have returned to their homes, raising children and putting the days of their heroic deeds behind them. But peace on Krynn comes at a price. The forces of darkness are ever vigilant, searching for ways to erode the balance of power and take control. When subtle changes begin to permeate the fragile peace, new lives are drawn into the web of fate woven around all the races.

Prophetic
Revisado: 09-19-21
Throughout this old novel and my previous listen, Dragons of Summer Flame, I heard many prophetic words, phrases, and themes pertaining to the current period of evil unrest in our nation, perhaps wholly unintended by the authors, perhaps not. But isn't that the way of truth and prophecy? Truths remain truths no matter the age.

Historia
Summer has come to Krynn, a summer unlike any before. The sun bears down on land and sea, searing the world with relentless light and heat. Clouds and rain are nowhere to be found, and even the darkness of night brings little relief from the strange and oppressive day. Meanwhile, those who commune regularly with their gods are uneasy. Every day, their deities become more distant, more difficult to reach. Clerics' prayers go unanswered, and magic goes awry.

Historia
When the world was young, and its name was Faerie, the power of magic ruled - and the Elfstones warded the race of Elves and their lands, keeping evil at bay. But when an Elven girl fell hopelessly in love with a Darkling boy of the Void, he carried away more than her heart. Thousands of years later, tumultuous times are upon the world now known as the Four Lands. Users of magic are in conflict with proponents of science. Elves have distanced their society from the other races. The Druid order is threatened.

Somewhat lacking
Revisado: 06-16-21
Though I rarely have a bad word to say about a Terry Brooks novel, I found myself having a hard time getting into this one. Could've been the female narrator, though she did a good job, or the pacing. I can't say. It just didn't do it for me.
