Historia
The Discworld is in danger, heading towards a seemingly inevitable collision with a malevolent red star, its magic fading. It needs a hero, and fast. What it doesn't need is Rincewind, an inept and cowardly wizard who is still recovering from the trauma of falling off the edge of the world. Or Twoflower, the well-meaning tourist whose luggage has a mind (and legs) of its own.

A chip off the old block-Letty
Revisado: 04-30-22
I’m a fan of this author. He never disappoints.
Some what fast pace and less gruesome as some of his books. This series promises to keep you on the edge of your seats.
As usual J.S. takes from the headlines and creates a very possible story that fits in with today’s culture.
You can visualize this really happing.
Letty is a hard nose woman that has seen to much at a young age to play a damsel in distress or even a woman that second guess her thoughts and opinions.
She finds herself bored and finds herself in the thick of it in no time. Just like her Dad.

Historia
In the days and months after Pearl Harbor, the lives of Japanese Americans across the continent and Hawaii were changed forever. In this unforgettable chronicle of war-time America and the battlefields of Europe, Daniel James Brown portrays the journey of Rudy Tokiwa, Fred Shiosaki, and Kats Miho, who volunteered for the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and were deployed to France, Germany, and Italy, where they were asked to do the near impossible. Brown also tells the story of these soldiers' parents, immigrants who were forced to submit to life in concentration camps on U.S. soil.

A history buffs dream
Revisado: 03-22-22
I found this book and it’s historical information riveting. The narrator was great with his matter of fact reading as well. I felt his voice to be true. True in the vocal infection and deferential to the American Japanese experience of the time. This really added to the book as he grasped the undercurrent of emotion the book, never boiling over but simmering just below. I didn’t know he was of Japanese decent until after I listen to the book. He was a great. Had a person with any accent, or regional dialect been present in the reading it would have been spoiled.

Historia
James Dommek, Jr., an Alaska Native writer and musician, sheds new light on a real-life mystery that pits Native American folklore against the US justice system. In the vast Alaskan Arctic, legend has it there once lived a mythic tribe—Iñukuns—that only existed in rumors and whispers. This changed forever when an actor-turned-fugitive, Teddy Kyle Smith, had an encounter that brought Iñukuns from myth to reality. Smith was an aspiring actor with a promising career until it all came quickly crashing down with a gunshot, a manhunt, bloodshed, and other frightful events.

Into the land of the legends and mythical people
Revisado: 12-28-19
Let me start off with telling you I was able to live in the town of North Pole for 9 years. Always liking the outdoors but never really understanding that's not isn't very common. This story brought me back to the log cabin and the town natives.
I enjoyed how this story made me smell the land again. Yes, I can hear the land again as well. The authors, the narrator, the sound tech told the story so honestly that I thought I could be at a sled dog race hearing the story while slipping on a beer.
Alaska is so much of a place caught in yesterday and yet throw into tomorrow. The natives in this story keep you in yesterday and the crime pulls you to today.
It's not a fast story, It's not a dragged out story. It is a story like most of the rivers in Alaska, fast and winding.
Hoping for more by this group of story tellers. Really left me wanting more.

Historia
On September 1, 1894, two forest fires converged on the town of Hinckley, Minnesota, trapping over 2,000 people. Daniel J. Brown recounts the events surrounding the fire in the first and only book to chronicle the dramatic story that unfolded. Whereas Oregon's famous "Biscuit" fire in 2002 burned 350,000 acres in one week, the Hinckley fire did the same damage in five hours. The fire created its own weather, including hurricane-strength winds, bubbles of plasmalike glowing gas, and 200-foot-tall flames.

As someone that loves history and largely forgotten stories this book is a gem.
Worried the subject was too depressing to read I finally gave into reading yet another book by this great author. I will be forever grateful for that choice.
The story, though sad, is of greed, negligence, heroism, ingenuity, resourcefulness, strength and kindness. A story that will forever echo in your memory.
You will not regret the purchase of the book. I listen straight through will only breaks to the answer phone. Yep, it’s that good.

The Dynamic Duo, Preston and Child write another great book.
Revisado: 04-04-18
I find both authors to be great on their own as well as joint ventures.
Once again Pendergast is the FBI’s best weapon on finding the murderer that beheads his victims.
This book does not contain a unneeded scene or word. The two authors are great word smiths and dole out words as if they are allotted a so many per story.
Mr Auberjonois, the voice of the audio book. The voice that creates tension and the right amount of suspense. He is a treasure to listen to in any story he reads.

Nice twist
Revisado: 12-12-17
I try not to read about WW2 as I have read so many already but I gave into this one. The start of the book I didn't like it at all. Was it because of the writing or the narrator that turned me off I can not say. Seemed childish at first but hold on the story is worth the wait. The twist you do not see coming.
