I don’t mind biking stories that start off with the MMC being a bit of a jerk and taking the FMC as a prisoner. I thought the branding and coloring were a little much, and I personally like when the MMC has to redeem himself a little more in the end. But what definitely did not the story was the narration.

Good, but not as enjoyable as others by TD

This book just seemed a little all over the place for me. There were so many outside things going on. It felt difficult to concentrate on the main characters. I persevered, because, well, it’s Tessa dare. However, of all the books I’ve read of hers, and I’ve nearly read them all. This probably ranks as my least favorite.

A bit disappointing in the end

I liked the premise and really enjoyed the book until it headed toward the end. I’m not a fan of the issues remaining unresolved and the HEA not happening until the last five seconds of the book-literally. In fact I’m not even sure it’s an HEA. It was more like a brief surrender. The five minute epilogue to follow did not make up for the hours and hours of angst that I listened to to get there.

Love this book and Narrator is AMAZING!

I’m pretty picky about my narrators. And Ruth Urquhart is one of the best I’ve heard. This is a wonderful story with ups and downs and some suspense, and all delivered beautifully by excellent narration. I just finished book 2 and hope there will be more in this series and with this narrator!

Love Marianne and Ambrose

Wrote my own series where Ambrose was the name of the bad guy. After reading this book and loving these characters, Grace Callaway makes me want to go back and change my bad guys name!! ❤️Ambrose!
This is a story about love and trust. The author lets us see two people who are not perfect, but who bring out the best in each other. This is my third ‘listen’ of this book and I like it more each time.
Worth a credit? ABSOLUTELY!! You will not be disappointed!
Narration is excellent also!!

Good first book… very slow burn

4 stars because while I loved the opening and the build between Charlotte and William, Charlotte’s inflexibility and the rushed ending didn’t give me a chance to enjoy the conclusion as much as I would have liked. Still very good, but could have been amazing.
