Yes I would as long as they can handle it

What other book might you compare The Girl with the Deep Blue Eyes to and why?

It reminds me of his early work in the great pulp sleaze period such as Thirty but with a crime twist

This is one of my favorite books of the year Lawrence captures the feel of the old sleaze pulps in a modern setting and some great tributes to my favorite films of noir

Yes I WILL It is like one of the top five of Hard boiled crime books of all time this is where it all started

How he deals with a death of a good friend

Mike Hammer Mike Dennis really captures it

Yes when he figures out the real crime and who did it.

So glad to find the full text finally narrated into an audio book

No this is my first I enjoyed it, He has a very strange way of talking but that is him

Some have given bad reviews of his reading it is strange but hey thats the Man

Where does Murder at the Bijou rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Jim Thompson is a legend and this is a great beginning this is high on my list

What did you like best about this story?

The whole look into running a movie house in the early years when a theater was the biggest thing in a town

Which scene was your favorite?

The whole twist at the end

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The dark fall the main character takes it's a slow decent but it's a fun ride

Listen to how it all started from one of the masters of dark voice and evil humans well worth to have in your library.

A short fun listen that will have you remembering the old Spicy Pulps

Witty dialog fun story

What does Mike Dennis and Jennifer Saucedo bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Yes they both did a great job and Mike Dennis is the go to guy for Pulp Noir

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes will listen to again fun stuff

I have been a big fan of the old Pulps and when I listened to this one i was under the impression that it was one of the vintage stories of yesteryear and was surprised to find out it's the New Pulp and well worth checking out.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would my group of friends is usually fans of Film Noir or old Pulp Crime novels. And this book covers both grounds. If anyone is a fan of Noir Films knows the film Detour and this book covers that story and so much more.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Alex Roth he plays the everyman story down on his luck and finds women dangerous.

What does Mike Dennis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voice presentation is spot on taking you back to the times when the story takes place well worth the listen even if you already read the book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I liked how the book gave us the different view points of the character. Like how it gives us the story of what his girlfriend is doing while he is tracking a crossed the US to surprise her

The book fills in way more of the story that the film did not capture anyone a fan of the film needs to read the book

Yes very informative giving you a look at the sick mind and the way media hypes it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Why We Love Serial Killers?

His in depth look at how a mass of people can be affected by a notion of a thought.

What about Keith Szarabajka’s performance did you like?

Spot on very professional

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Moved not sure but frightened by much

The book gives you an informative look into the difference between Serial killers and spree killers and just normal homicide. It also takes a look at us the reader and fan of True Crime books, movies, and TV shows.

You will get plenty insight within this book and a look at how the media sometimes fans the fires to glorify some details and distort the truth.
