Historia
For as long as she can remember, Ancelin has felt as if she were living a life not her own - confined to an ill-fitting, somewhat empty existence. One she'd come to terms with. Now though, something is wrong. She can't see it, she can't touch it, but something sinister is there, lurking in the shadows, determined to consume her...if she lets it. Ancelin loves the paranormal, the fairy tales, the dark fantasies she's read about in books and watched on a screen - all the things her sister wishes Ancelin would stop insisting were more than stories. But what if they really are?

I THOUGHT I liked Haunted
Revisado: 01-29-20
I THOUGHT I liked Haunted...like a lot. But that was NOTHING compared to how I enjoyed this sequel. I loved the characters, I loved their history, I just could go on and on about it. I enjoyed this book more than any other I've read in a very long time. Also, I would love to hear the narrator narrate more books. I loved her voice!

Historia
You’ve never met the other wives. None of you know each other, and because of this unconventional arrangement, you can see your husband only one day a week. But you love him so much you don’t care. Or at least that’s what you’ve told yourself. But one day, while you’re doing laundry, you find a scrap of paper in his pocket—an appointment reminder for a woman named Hannah, and you just know it’s another of the wives.

I have thoughts
Revisado: 01-24-20
Okay so let me just say... I am a fan of psychological thrillers. I love them. And I don't think this is a bad one at all. I think it's pretty good. The main character is compelling. And most of the novel I was on the edge of my chair because I knew SOMETHING big was coming, I just didn't know what. I do think this novel is as twisted as everyone says, and the plot twist is a huge twist...I just wanted more for the main character is all!

Historia
Stable, safe, predictable—all words that aptly describe Professor Nadia Day’s life. An existence she’s carefully crafted for herself despite her unconventional upbringing and what, to her, is an unseemly past. The last thing she would ever do is rock the boat when it comes to her life and livelihood. When retired football player and single dad, Nathan Moore, walks into her psychology classroom, all fine and dreadlocked, he does more than rock her boat—he rocks her world and causes her to question her buttoned-up existence.

A hint of Kink
Revisado: 01-24-20
So I'll start with the good..This was the first book of the author's that I THOROUGHLY enjoyed. I really did like the storyline and the couple. My only complaint is that this has a sprinkle of kink. When downloading it, according to the description and a few reviews, I thought there would be more.
I found this book actually very vanilla, but I could just be being a little picky. I would have liked a little more kink. It's so hard finding black characters who are into it. I wish I could find more. All in All, I enjoyed and would probably listen again.

Historia
Justin and Toni were friends. Besties, with a whole list of life rules developed over a friendship that started when they were kids. As long as they stuck to the rules, even when they blended a business relationship into the friendship, things went off without a hitch. But then one of them broke the rules - it was Justin. Justin broke the rules - and Toni has been mad about it ever since.

Cute
Revisado: 01-24-20
Like most of this author's work, I thought it was cute. It's quite clear that Christina C. Jones writes for an audience that is within my demographic (black women, 25-35ish) and I enjoy reading her books because I do feel seen. As much as I enjoy reading her books, I'm often left wanting more (That was not the case with three of her books: I Think I Might Love You, Haunted, and A Mutually Beneficial arrangement...all of those books were bomb. I think the last one is the only one not currently available in an audiobook format). I think that Toni was a really cute character, although her stubbornness was irritating. I also find it not so plausible that someone could remember that many "rules" for that many years, but not important lol. I liked this book best out of the Wright Brothers series.

My Favorite
Revisado: 01-24-20
As a book lover, it takes a lot for me to say this...But I really think that this might be my most favorite book to ever exist (I know, big statement). Ruby Dee's narration added so much for me. It made a book I've been reading since childhood have such a richer, deeper experience. Will definitely re-listen while reading my physical copy!

Historia
Jaclyn Love is a magnet for trouble - it seems to follow her wherever she goes. Unfortunately for Kadan Davenport, she also seems to be a magnet for him - even after a disastrous first impression that leaves him - literally - black and blue. Jaclyn is busy trying to find some sort of balance, and Kadan is just trying not to get swept up in the chaos. In a small city like Blakewood, it's hard to avoid each other...especially when each additional encounter makes them wonder if they really want to.

Cute and sweet
Revisado: 12-08-19
I’m kind of, sort of, a picky reader. I really enjoyed this one. It was a quick listen and entertaining all the way through. Jacq’s personality and history made her so cute and relatable. Great narration too! Typical male narrators fall a lot short for me, but I loved this one!

Good premise, bad narration
Revisado: 11-26-19
As a romance LOVER, this is one of my favorite tropes. I settled in expecting to get lost in the plot...and then, I heard the female narrator's voice. Her voice is very monotone and it gets worse when she reads the male portion of the novel. I think I would have really enjoyed this one if I had purchased it in paperback/kindle form instead of listening to it.
