I really wanted to like this book so much! I love this author and the first two books in her series in particular. With this one, I just couldn’t connect with the Camille/Cam or Dusty. I felt confused much of the book because of the whole flashback situation. I was confused about the baby daddy and how Dusty fit in there. I wondered if I didn’t connect or want to champion the second chance at romance because I didn’t know why they broke up for the majority of the book and with Cam’s mean vibes wondered if she did the dumping. Dusty seems so perfect and has this stable job op but doesn’t tell Cam for most of the book and that’s strange to me. I have read books that do this flash back thing (sorry, I’m sure there is a technical word for it) like the Lakeside Chronicles by Susan Wiggs and really enjoyed it. With this one I was waiting and waiting for the joy of second chance love to come and Cam seemed to be always putting Dusty off. Dusty did sweet things for Cam and it didn’t really feel like she appreciated them. The plot overall was really slow and lacking. Also, the relationship or lack of with Riley put my mom-senses on alert. It was like her child disappeared the last several chapters of the book. I wonder if there was some kind of publishing deadline and the time wasn’t there for the author to make this one as wonderful as the first two. I hope in future books the magic of her first two can come back!

Gotta say this is my favorite book in several months and I read a lot of books, and all the rom coms I can find. I never imagined Sarah could write a book that topped Practice Makes Perfect for me but gosh darn it she did. I LOVED this book.

Emily and Jack(son) are both teachers, caretakers, writers and recovering over-functioners in their families. They’ve competed throughout most of their history - but with circumstances throwing them into the same town they both begin to feel ALL the feelings for one another. I knew this book would be good because of her other two in this series but this is by far the most romantic, clever, creative, sexy and phenomenal story I have read in a long time.

Chapter 14 with the motorcycle almost stopped my heart. It was like real, live butterflies took over my insides. I had to listen to it twice. It was so vulnerable and real and so empowering and full circle.

Finally, I love how Jack has such an unwavering dedication to Emily even when she’s prickly because he knows what she really is is afraid she won’t be loved for who she is. She is not spoiled by any means. She’s a classic older sibling and a nurturer. I wonder if the person who said that even read the book because that review was honestly soooo off base!

I love this series and was so excited to see there was a new release. Such a great storyline and the characters are complex, inspiring and real. Thanks Barbara for another add to this phenomenal series.

As silly as this sounds I have avoided books with cartoon ish covers for lack of a better way to describe it, thinking they were probably fluffy stories without substance. I was definitely wrong, and I am so glad I found Sarah Adams’ and her books. I especially enjoyed The Match. I loved that it was about a woman who was passionate, messy, nurturing, smart, and hardworking despite a disability and parents who could help her avoid the hard stuff in life (at the cost of her soul, lol, but really!) I also enjoyed the dogs in the book, the love story, and the realness of the emotions balanced perfectly with a story that keeps a good pace. Highly recommend! 10/10. Just rated the performance 4 stars because the female voice Jake’s narrator does is a little cringey.

This book and series is in my top three favorite contemporary romance books/series. Emily March and Susan Wiggs wrote my other two faves. I have listened to this book more than once because it’s such a beautiful story. I can’t wait for the next book in this series to come out in February. I love Abby and Tom, and I love Jewell Cove! The narrator also is fantastic on this one!

This was a beautiful ending to a series I have enjoyed so much. It was romantic, intelligent, and came full circle. I recommend this book to others who enjoy a small town series with lots of characters with depth and romances that authentic enough to keep you invested until the end (think Virgin River by Robyn Carr, and Jewell Cove series by Donna Alward, and Lakeshore Chronicles by Susan Wiggs) Narrator also did lovely.

I’m so glad I took a chance on this book! I don’t usually like stories about famous people or LA/Hollywood etc, but this book was beautifully written, sexy, charming and romantic. I’m not sure why a previous reviewer knocked the narration, Maybe they don’t listen to many audio books. I thought this one was pleasant to listen to and didn’t do weird things with the male voice like some narrators do.

What a fantastic and beautiful story and series. Reminds a bit of the Virgin River series but an upgrade as far as the excellency of the writing. I wish the two following stories were on audible, maybe jointly since they are both Christmas novels. This book is so touching, sexy, and has so much beauty in it. I love Jewell Cove so so much!

I am now finished reading all the romantic suspense books from this author from oldest to newest. Body of Evidence didn’t disappoint. It was an intriguing story with many elements from romance to forensic science to a persons relationship with God and the mind of a criminal. I love this series and can’t wait to get into another one when Into the Fire is released. Thanks Irene for another great listen!

I loved this book so much. The female lead is an intelligent, quirky, kind individual. The male lead was an athlete, so in some ways it was an opposites attract (Initially anyways) storyline. I was honestly so disappointed to see this book come to an end. It was interesting, sexy, and had twists and turns all the way until the end. I consider myself picky about books because I like romances but I don’t like to read about dumb women or overbearing males. This book was not that, it was done super well, and also it is apart of a series but I would consider it a stand alone as the aspects that made it apart of the series were so minimal that I barely noticed them.
