Historia
Sold into slavery by her father and forsaken by the man she was supposed to marry, young Egyptian Kiya must serve a mistress who takes pleasure in her humiliation. When terrifying plagues strike Egypt, Kiya is in the middle of it all. Choosing to flee with the Hebrews, Kiya finds herself reliant on a strange God and drawn to a man who despises her people. With everything she's ever known swept away, and now facing the trials of the desert, will she turn back toward Egypt or surrender her life and her future to Yahweh?

Different perspective nice to see
Revisado: 09-01-20
This was a nice presentation of what happened in Egypt during time of the Pharaoh and Moses from the life of someone a part of the upper status impacted by poor decisions and bitterness of sin that led to servitude. It covered from the Egyptians world view the lens they may have had during the plagues, and that God was always about restoration of both the gentile and Hebrew to himself. Overall the book helped give a different perspective from how the story is normally told. It was good with nice narration. Overall, I feel it was entertaining although it could have had more story around the Jews experience under the oppression of the Egyptians and their own choices. The narration was fine, Character changes were not enunciated as they are in others I’ve listened to but had a good rhythm.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Profoundly impacting
Revisado: 07-17-20
At first it was slow for me, but that was a short window into a story of love, loss, sacrifice, betrayal, misperceptions and reality. It leaves you with a reminder of what is important...would heal, betrayal s happen in a real world, but the impacts you make of sacrifice and love are ever changing and making you who you are meant to be, including the legacy of memories you leave behind. The performance was exquisite, the story profound and overall a message I hope to remind myself over and over again. Thank you Kristine Hannah for your gift shared.

Historia
A successful LA artist, Roman Velasco appears to have everything he could possibly want - money, women, fame. Only Grace Moore, his reluctant, newly hired personal assistant, knows how little he truly has. The demons of Roman's past seem to echo through the halls of his empty mansion and out across his breathtaking Topanga Canyon view. But Grace doesn't know how her boss secretly wrestles with those demons: by tagging buildings as the Bird, a notorious but unidentified graffiti artist - an alter ego that could destroy his career and land him in prison.

Another great story by Francine Rivers
Revisado: 07-22-19
I always enjoy how Francine Rivers intertwines faith in practical applications to real world experiences. I enjoyed the performance but had a hard time with the rhythm of the storytelling at first. Yet the diversity of characters the storyteller brought was impressive once I adapted to the vocals. Overall a great read/listen.

Historia
Cracking the communication code between husband and wife involves understanding one thing: that unconditional respect is as powerful for him as unconditional love is for her. It's the secret to marriage that every couple seeks, and yet few couples ever find. While both men and women deserve both love and respect, in the midst of conflict the driving need for a woman is love and the driving need for a man is respect. When either of these needs isn’t met, things get crazy. Based on over three decades of counseling, as well as scientific and biblical research, Love and Respect is for anyone.

The guidance in this will change you ... thereby changing your spouses response to you in time. I have a MA degree, have studied this field, yet this was the key that has not only a significant tool to transform my relationship, but my minds eye view of my relationship with God. So good!

Love Francine Rivers & audible rendition
Revisado: 07-10-19
This was the 3rd book in a series. The 1st two I read, thereafter using audible for the last. The audible rendition added a nice contrast to my own mind. The storyline was tough on this one having come from such a different day and age as it relates to women. But I love how closely she ties the culture and norms of the times to her writings rather than imposing 21st century ideology. I was compelled to look and reflect on my own faith and how I practice humility, surrender to Gods will and more. It stimulates me to pray to become more like Christ!!
