What did you like best about this story?

The story truly captures a child's view of life's "mysteries", upeavals, & triumphs.Maralayna's sense of self-preservation & strength is one that I can totally relate to. She has a sense of "total recall" & tells a story that paints a vivid picture of her world.

What does Abby Elvidge bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Abby's voice takes me "there". When I listen to her, the story unfolds in such compelling tone that I had a difficlut time teaing myself away when I had other things to do. I wanted to know what was happening to Maralayna next. Abby's voice texture is intriguing & brings warmth to Maralayna amazingly mature insights as she expresses them.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The story made me both laugh & cry. The story resonated deeply within me, as parts of it is my story.

This book is the first novel I have "read" in years, as I stopped reading fiction 24 years ago; preferring Biographies, Esoteric & How To books. It is also my first audiobook. Between the richness of the story & Abby's fantastic narration, I will be listening to more Audio Books in the future.
