Historia
The Internet was never intended for you, opines Brian McCullough in this lively narrative of an era that utterly transformed everything we thought we knew about technology. In How the Internet Happened, he chronicles the whole fascinating story for the first time, beginning in a dusty Illinois basement in 1993, when a group of college kids set off a once-in-an-epoch revolution with what would become the first "dotcom".

Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

ANNOYING CHARACTERS
Revisado: 04-13-22
I do appreciate the detail put into these books and how real the world feels but some characters just ruin the story for me specifically Franny, Flag and Nadeen Franny literally can't go a single scene without crying for some reason. Nadeen seemed to have so much potential early in the story but just gets thrown away to be a braindead husk..... because she gets what she was destined for and knows it?? like wtf and how things end with flag it just makes me feel like the book was a giant waste of time. I know so many people feel different but overall this book FOR ME was insanely boring and I will 100% be returning the rest of my Stephen king books. I've tried his other 3 most popular and just don't like the writing style.

Historia
George Orwell depicts a gray, totalitarian world dominated by Big Brother and its vast network of agents, including the Thought Police - a world in which news is manufactured according to the authorities' will and people live tepid lives by rote. Winston Smith, a hero with no heroic qualities, longs only for truth and decency. But living in a social system in which privacy does not exist and where those with unorthodox ideas are brainwashed or put to death, he knows there is no hope for him.

EXTREMELY REPETITIVE.

it feels like some of the chapters are copies of each other. and nearly every single sentence is repeated at least once.
