Decent listen, but not great

This is the start of Jade's series and it is a slow going at times. We learn and figure a lot out as the story goes on. Jade meets a lot of people that seem to understand her and her gifts. We follow along as Jade and her new/old friends figures out what exactly is happening with the ghost or is it ghosts. This is the best introduction for us into Deanna Chase’s new world. This series you do need to read from the start.
Traci Odom did an ok job narrating. I think if I hadn't listened to Pyper’s story first I would have been fine with it. At times the voices that Traci didn't do them justice. She didn't add any words or change up what Deanna Chase wrote. She just didn't pull me in and make the book sound entertaining. She had issues following the voices/tones she used for the same characters. But I still recommend getting the book since it gets better as it goes and the actual story being told is one that I love.

Julius is needed to deal with paranormal activity - on a cruise ship to the Caribbean. An all-expense paid cruise to the Caribbean sounds like the perfect second date until Pyper witnesses the death of a famous rock star.

Deanna Chase does it again

I received this for free, from Deanna Chase, for my honest review. I highly recommend this series of you have read Deanna Chase’s Jade Calhoun series. You can read this without reading Jade’s series, you just might not understand everything that is said in the books with Piper.
We start of back with Piper finally getting some much needed time with Julius. However, it doesn't really work out in the way they plan. Julius is sent on a job that has to be taken care of immediately. So, you guessed it, Piper goes with him. Plus some other guests show that we all love. But this is Piper and Julius time. They work on getting things taken care of when certain spirits get in the way. Piper has a new or should I say advanced power that she starts to use towards the end of the book. Julius is always the gentleman even at the end of the book.
Gabra Zackman has done it again. Making feel the passion and anguish that happened in the story. She kept up with the same voices from Spirits, Stilettos, and a Silver Bustier. There was no issues with mix ups or added words. It is even more entertaining reading it while listening to Gabra’s voice.

All Pyper Rayne - medium and coffee shop owner - wanted was the perfect vintage dress. What she got was a dead shop owner and a sexy ghost who's suddenly everywhere - at her shop, in her car, and even lounging in her bedroom. But he's not just any ghost. He's a witch and able to appear in solid form...sometimes. If only he'd stop disappearing on her.

Deanna Chase created a spin off series about Pyper Rayne that we first met in Jade Calhoun series. We get to see Pyper in a different light and watch what happens when spirits show up. Pyper has accepted her powers and works to be certain things are taken care of. We do get to see Ida May (she is my personal favorite ghost) and a special man in Pyper’s life. We follow alongside on Pyper’s adventure. You will be hooked just like me and can't wait for more.
Gabra did a wonderful job getting different voices and tones while narrating. Pyper was not as husky as I would have thought. However, that didn't change the entertainment I had listening this for my very first audio book. I was glad to hear a woman voice since it was in Pyper’s point of view. I read simultaneously while listening. I was able to pause when needed and it starts right back where it was left off. I didn't even notice if there was a mixup in words or not, being too engrossed with the written words of Deanna spoken by Gabra.
