My most listened to audible book of all time.

I am listening to this book yet again. Starting in 2013, it took me probably 6-7 attempts at starting (and quitting) this book before I finally just MADE myself do it, like it was a distasteful chore. Ha! It turns out to be my all-time favorite, most listened to audio book ever. After the first listen I thought, wtf did I just listen to? And promptly started it over from the beginning. Somewhere between my first listen and unconscious absorption and the second listen with a bit more grasp of who, what, when and where, I fell so hard for this universe of characters and plots. I cannot imagine any other narrator than John Lee bringing these people to life in my imagination. This is my go-to comfort book (along with Judas Unchained) Yes, the quality of the audio is not the best, so I can understand that it would definitely prevent a listener from having a good experience, which is tragically unfortunate for a 37 hour book. But, if you can give it a chance, you may end up like me, discovering a treasure that you can return to again and again. Having said all that...Space Epics aren't for everyone, but Hamilton's Pandora's Star sure made a fan out of me.

Yes. It's over the top in all the right ways. The narrator nails the sarcasm and delivers the humor.

I did not have a favorite scene. I thought the story was decent from start to finish. I laughed frequently.
