This audiobook was just wonderful! From the forward by Annie Lennox to the conversation between a follower and the Buddha. She sounds like all of us searching for the way and the narrator they picked for Buddha's answer is excellent, too. If you want to find answers and your not into all the stoner sound of a lot of audiobook about Buddhism, this makes it real. Everything you want to know in the modern world and a quick biography of Buddha's life and teachings in ways you can understand and that are meaningful for today's world. The readers were perfect for this book and their sincereity and honesty came through.

I have a family member who was married to a classic pathological narcissist for almost 10 years was really lucky to get out. He was diagnosed as a pathological narcissist but I didn't really know what it meant until I listened to this book. Every trait and symptom and behavior they listed fit him to a tee. Narcissist are so dangerous for women to get involved with because it is so hard to see it. This gives you things to look out for and questions to ask to prevent getting drawn into a relationship. But it also gives you some tools to get out and ways to protect yourself.

Just keep it handy and run don't walk if you meet a true narcissist. These are scary people (not just men, but that had a special significance for me because of my sister.) The book also makes you look at yourself and recognize the behaviors you might have that attract narcissists and help you not to let them make your choices next time. If you are lucky enough to have a next time.

This should be a companion piece to The Myth of Capitalism by Jonathan Tepper. I bought the Warren Buffet audiobook because I liked the narrator after hearing The Myth of Capitalism but the two books are really complimentary and the male narrator in this is very good, too. This is really how Buffett chooses his stocks from what I have read about him, and the capitalism books shows you the reasons industries and companies get on his list.

This is written well for a new investor and some of the insights and strategies into how Buffett developed his strategies and some of his discipline and habits can also be interesting to experienced investors as well even though the basics of understanding a balance sheet and financials is basic. But sometimes you need to get back to the basics, too. Either way it was an enjoyable listen. I always speed my audiobooks up to about 1.25x and these narrators still sound good.

I don't usually read chick-lit, but this was funny and I got into it just out of curiosity when my wife kept chuckling while she listened. The characters in it were REALLY characters and it might prepare me for my own daughter's wedding- NOT! I could hear a lot of my relatives in the voices of a lot of the characters. Writer was funny, reader kept all the voices distinctive and kept it moving. Top-notch talent all around made a funny beach read out of this even for a dude.

The popular characters from he Triple D Ranch are back with more romance and suspense. Fast paced and great characters but this time I was a little bit disgusted with the wishy-washy decisions made by Rebecca. All the other books have been great with really good women and hot romances. I'll keep listening because of great guys and the great narrator, but I want the women to be as strong as the men and Ms. ODell is usually known for that.

Keep them coming and I'll keep listening to this ranching and romance series!

Would you listen to Cyber Crisis again? Why?

Yes. I'd like to read a follow on now that most of the cyber hacking has come true and everybody is experiencing it. This is a big deal and there should be more written for everyday people about this.

What does Pamela Almand bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She has a strong voice and you pay attention but it is still pretty easy to listen to. It sounds like she's into this stuff and knows what she's talking about..

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It is a wakeup call not that we should need it still. The whole country is so exposed to cyber hacking and crime and I wish this book concentrated more on the bigger aspects of it instead of the individual's problems and fears, but for the level it was talking to it was pretty good.

Would you listen to Sold into Egypt again? Why?

I learned a lot in this audiobook of part-musings, part-philosophy, part-Biblical, part-story analysis of Joseph's life. The author told this in the personal stories of each of Joseph's brother, his wife, and other characters in the Biblical story which made it a lot more personal than I've ever thought of it before. The reader brought all of these to life and told the stories from each individual perspective. Madeleine L'Engle's perspective colored the whole book and tied everything together with a lot of interesting musings, warm and humorous thoughts and interpretations that made each of them human. And hearing each person's point of view through the reader's voice gave them each a human-ness you don't get from just reading the Bible story.

Which scene was your favorite?

Potiphar's wife was almost humorous in her shock at Joseph's rejection and the reader really conveyed this well. And you could feel the anguish and shame of Ruben being the oldest. The book also showed the reasoning behind many of the old Biblical customs and culture.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Bible stories brought to life in the 21st century

Any additional comments?

I want to listen to the rest of this Genesis series from Madeleine L'Engle and Pamela Almand and hope that they are as good as Sold Into Egypt.

Would you listen to A Circle of Quiet again? Why?

Yes, I would. The thoughts and wondering of the author are the same as all of us and she has good ideas for a lot of my doubts. It had some slow moments, though, but I was expecting her fiction style, maybe

Which scene was your favorite?

All of her family memories and her thoughts on life in general are little nutshells of wisdom and peace and how she finds happiness in all the questions of our times.

Any additional comments?

The audiobook is one you'll listen to a lot. The narration is superb and sounds just like I would picture Madeleine L'Engle having a cup of coffee with me and chatting about life.
