Historia
At 20, Cassie Madison left her hometown of Walton, Georgia, for New York City, where she has reinvented herself - from losing herself in her career to squashing her accent. But one night a single phone call brings back everything she's tried to forget. She hasn't spoken to her sister since Harriet stole Cassie's fiancé and married him. But now Harriet's on the line with news that their father is dying. As she makes the trip back, the only thing that frightens Cassie more than losing her father is seeing Harriet and the family that should have been hers.

Turned Out to be Pretty Good
Revisado: 04-18-25
This was a pretty good book. Not what I expected, in a good way. Not so much of a page-turner but it did hold my interest all throughout. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the story was because there was a bit of a lull in the middle but it soon picked up and I’m glad I stayed with it. I suggest you give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Historia
Kate McGuire’s life was sweet in Manhattan before she lost her restaurant job and fiancé both. But sometimes that’s just the way the cookie crumbles, and soon she finds herself starting from scratch in the island town of Coral Cay, Florida. It has everything she’s looking for: sunny beaches, friendly locals, and a Help Wanted sign in the bakery shop window. Once she convinces the shop’s crusty owner Sam Hepplewhite to hire her, Kate can’t tie on her apron fast enough. Little does she know that trouble, like warm dough, is on the rise.

Cute

If you’re looking for some light, cute reading I suggest this book. It’s cute, not a page-turner but… cute. I would recommend it if you’re looking for a break from some heavy thriller.

Classic ‘Who Done It’
Revisado: 03-02-25
I recommend this book if you like the classic ‘who done it’. I went through a lot of ‘she did it’, ‘no, he did it’ scenarios. Narrators were really good as well.

Historia
Dr. Briana Ortiz’s life is seriously flatlining. Her divorce is just about finalized, her brother’s running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants? Oh, that’s probably going to the new man-doctor who’s already registering eighty-friggin’-seven on Briana’s “pain in my ass” scale. But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr. Jacob Maddox completely flips the game . . . by sending Briana a letter. And it’s a really good letter. Like the kind that proves that Jacob isn’t actually Satan.

Good Read but Dragged a Little
Revisado: 02-13-25
I do recommend this book but the author could have cut out about 45 minutes of Brianna and Jacob going back and forth of “I love her but I don’t think she loves me” and “I love him but I don’t think he loves me”. That got a bit monotonous. Other than that, it’s a pretty good book especially since it’s largely based on personal aspects of the author’s life.

I felt like I was there!
Revisado: 02-05-25
This is such a cute, funny, and entertaining story. Although I knew how it was going to end (sort of…) I enjoyed hearing every minute of it. The narrator is fantastic and she made me feel like I was the main character. There were a lot of areas where I could firmly relate. I highly recommend this book if you want some good down-home southern laughter.

From the upper crust herself, Helen's unconventional--if happy--marriage has made the girls' social position precarious. This was a good read. Not great or riveting but good. Kind of knew where it was going from the beginning and it would have been a better story had it had a little twist to it. But, nevertheless, I have no regrets reading this book.
