The Stone that was in the crown of King Solomon of the golden age of Jerusalem has been stolen from the guardians who had kept it safe in Persia for centuries. Let loose into the English countryside by a thoroughly despicable narcissistic "scientist", it creates havoc throughout the culture until Chief Justice Lord Arglay and his faithful secretary agree together to submit themselves to the Name within the Stone to restore it to the Unity.

I thought I was getting the classic version by Kenneth Graham. Instead the performers were all female and necessarily bent all the characters they could to the female gender. So I didn't really appreciate the modifications.

It turned out to be more philosophically oriented than I'd remembered, with speculation about the evolutionary future of the human race, the haves and have nots.
Certainly not the movie interpretation with Rod Taylor.
The Time Traveler remains nameless, as do all the characters save Weena.
Sci Fi has certainly changed since the days of HGWells.
