Historia
When 17th and 18th-century Europeans replaced alcohol with coffee, it produced the Scientific Revolution and Enlightenment thinking. A simple chemical change can have drastic consequences for our lives and the world. Today, nootropics, smart drugs, and self-experimentation technologies are helping high performers improve their mental performance from Silicon Valley to Wall Street.

Goes Beyond Just Nootropics
Revisado: 10-11-17
I bought this book thinking it'd be a primer on nootropics. Mansal not only delivers on the 'Smart Drugs' part of mental performance, but the whole package - diet, exercise, mindset, etc. It's a really well written book with lots of useful info, delivered in a highly edutaining and relatable way. Would recommend.

Historia
In this book, we travel inside Emily's and Paul's brains as they attempt to sort the vast quantities of information they're presented with, figure out how to prioritize it, organize it, and act on it. Fortunately for Emily and Paul, they're in good hands: David Rock knows how the brain works - and more specifically, how it works in a work setting. Rock shows how it's possible for Emily and Paul, and thus the listener, not only to survive in today's overwhelming work environment but succeed in it - and still feel energized and accomplished at the end of the day.

Get "Spark" Instead
Revisado: 09-14-11
As many other reviewers have said, the reader is just far too monotone and boring. In addition, the content is very basic - If you know anything about performance psychology at all (if you know what a mnemonic is) then you probably won't get much from this book.
I'd recommend getting "Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain" instead. Much better book on a similar subject.

The Only Book to Get Me to Exercise
Revisado: 08-07-11
I've never really managed to stick with an exercise routine until I read this book. As an entrepreneur, my productivity is one of the most important things to me. All the evidence presented in this book essentially turned my "yeah I'd like to exercise" to "exercising is a mandatory part of my life."

Stellar Book Into the Mindset of a Top CEO
Revisado: 08-07-11
Ignore the reviews about how Shultz "seems to believe what he says too much." What the heck did you expect - A CEO that doesn't believe in his own company?
For me, this book gave amazing insight into how a top CEO selects his top executives, the challenges in turning a failing company around, how he instills the right company culture and handles Wall Street all at the same time.
First class business book, IMO.

Historia
With a cast of characters that wouldnt be out of place in a Victorian novel, Chocolate Wars tells the story of the great chocolatier dynasties, through the prism of the Cadburys. Chocolate was consumed unrefined and unprocessed as a rather bitter, fatty drink for the wealthy elite until the late 19th century, when the Swiss discovered a way to blend it with milk and unleashed a product that would conquer every market in the world.

Super Informative, Moderately Entertaining
Revisado: 05-15-11
I picked up this book primarily because I wanted to learn about an industry I knew nothing about. I learned a ton about the chocolate industry that I never knew. The book is entertaining at times and not at other times, but it's a great business book in general.
