interested story with room for improvement

I like the story. the only big hangup is the MC's use of metaphors from earth. The author should have some faith in the reader's ability to make connections without the MC's over obvious narration on the obvious. He is quite the idiot.

this is where the story begins going downhill

So, in the first two books there was some level 9f focus. In this the title is alliances . . . so based on the previous book one would think that would be the focus, but the sprites go to fight the bug bears rather than visiting the elves and no progress in gaining dwarves as allies. This is the beginning of the author losing focus, forgetting skill levels from previous books, and a doubling down on two dimensional characters that have no redeemable qualities.

Even up to book 7, the mc thinks he is badass for having skills above level 10, which is nothing based on the hierarchy developed by the author.

umm had potential but horrible

The author can't keep track of the mc's skill levels from book to book and even in a single book. The MC is arrogant and does not grow from one book to the next. He is also an absolute idiot. A quarter of the book is wasted from "prompts" that take absurd amounts of time to get through. Progression of the story is chaotic. The author attempts to put a lot of meaningful story content, but cannot execute.

Nothing major happens. The first book was interesting. every thing else is a waste of money. 46 hours and no significant developments.

I loved the characters and plot. I had to force myself to stop listening. It really made the time fly by while I listened to it at work. I am looking forward to the next book.

Good book, though I can't help but feel that it was rushed. Compared to the other books, this one seems as though the author finished it as quickly as he could, so he could get to his other projects.
