Truly remarkable what these brave women did during the scariest time in history. It makes you wonder what you would do if in the same situation against pure evil.

Accentuates our great need to never forget our history

Especially now more than ever in our world, we all need to remember our past, our story. This book is such an amazing intertwined novel of todays characters and storytelling a character from their history in the past. The ending left me wanting more. It also made me have great conversations with others about our personal history and how we can never forget what our ancestors did to help build this country.

I have always loved listening to Yo-Yo Ma’s music. He has inspired me, all my life, to want to learn to play the cello (bucket list item). This gave me a chance to hear a piece of who he is and his beautiful journey. Everyone’s path is different in life. He has been blessed to travel the world doing something that he loves. This audible book will bring you peace and inspiration in this crazy world. Thank you Yo-Yo Ma.

Seriously had no idea why we were listening to a story about a Count confined to a hotel and why? Loved the expressive words and learned a few big words, but felt myself drifting off during the story out of boredom.

I listen to an audible book a month driving kids to and from activities and work. This is the only way I get books in because I have no other time. I couldn’t wait to jump in my truck and listen to this book. WWII era is my favorite to listen about and this book entwined a love story, mystery and facts about the time period into one. Best part is that is had Christian ties! I am so excited to listen to a book with hope, power and belief. Love love love this author!

I listen to a lot of historical fiction books, preferably the WWII era. This was one of the best books I have listened to all year! Beautifully written and taught me so much more of the American side of what the Japanese and German Americans went through. Very good part of our history. Listen to it! You will love it!
