Historia
Special Agent Matthew Roarke has abandoned his rogue search for serial killer Cara Lindstrom. He's returned to the FBI to head a task force with one mission: to rid society of its worst predators. But as the skeletal symbols of Santa Muerte, "Lady Death," mysteriously appear at universities nationwide, threatening death to rapists, Roarke's team is pressured to investigate. When a frat boy goes missing in Santa Barbara, Roarke realizes a bloodbath is coming - desperate teenagers are about to mete out personal, cold-blooded justice.

Political Agenda, nothing more: don’t recommend.
Revisado: 12-11-17
I will say this: The first book of this series is good. It got me interested in the story and characters, however as the story progresses over the course of 5 books, it becomes more and more messy and all over the place in order to make room for the author’s political agenda. Her characters become increasingly one-dimensional in order to serve her point / opinions. Pretty much every person in the world of these books is either an innocent victim or a cold hearted, psychopathic rapist , except for a handful of main characters.
She also creates increasingly more and more loose ends and cliff hangers and builds up a lot of tension without ever rapping anything up and oftentimes she just leaves out the most important parts of the story, jumps over the climax, and ends the book leaving you dissatisfied.
Overall this book series started somewhat strong, with a story that had potential but the more you read (or listen to the audiobook like I did), the more you just want it to end because every other page seems to be a rant about the authors political opinions. I only bothered listening through all the books because I wanted to know how said loose ends and cliffhangers turned out but I was just wasting my time since that never happened.
Do not read unless you want to listen to somebody tell in five books how you should feel and what you should think, how everybody’s evil anyway and eventually want to be left hanging longing for any kind of explanation that would wrap things up.
(I’m a woman by the way so it’s not just the “rant of an offended man”)

Mayim Bialik, Jeopardy! host and star of The Big Bang Theory, puts her PhD to work as she talks to teens about the science of growing up and getting ahead. A must-have audiobook for all teenage girls. Growing up as a girl in today’s world is no easy task. Juggling family, friends, romantic relationships, social interests and school...sometimes it feels like you might need to be a superhero to get through it all! But really, all you need is little information.

Thank you, for this book, Mayim!

I recently discovered Mayim's YouTube channel and got really into it. I love the topics she talks about and the way she addresses and acknowledges different points of view. When I ran out of interviews and videos of her to watch, I decided to get the audio book of "Girling Up" even though I am 23 and not within the suggested age range.
I loved this book! I bought it this morning and just finished listening to it, so it is not too long.
Mayim touches on some really big topics in this book, which I think, she does in a wonderfully tasteful and appropriate way. I especially loved the mix between talking about sex, hormones puberty and so on from a scientific perspective, as well as from a personal and emotional one.
I felt like, even as a 23 year old biology student (or maybe BECAUSE of that), I still learned some things I didn't know or hadn't yet considered.
There are also a lot of significant resources in her book, such as websites for domestic violence, anonymous alcoholics, eating disorder websites, ... and of course an easy guacamole recipe ;)
Even if you are not a girl 10 - 18, you can enjoy and learn from reading this book and if you are a Mayim fan (like me now) you will definitely find it very interesting and entertaining.
5/5 stars for my favorite Amy Farah Fowler actress :)
