Historia
Daniel Rice hasn't felt right since his return from a dystopian future. Curious dreams repeat with detailed precision. A voice—or something—seems to be calling him. His problem isn't medical, it's not even scientific, and it's driving his wife crazy. Nala is worried, and she's not the type to pace the halls while her overly analytic husband procrastinates. Earth's scientific power couple is soon halfway around the world to consult with alien android, Aastazin. Zin is no doctor, but he has friends in high places.

Solid story, decent narration
Revisado: 01-11-25
As book 4, story continues to be a good one. The narrators continue to provide accents for everyone and every nationality except for Nala, who is written as a Caribbean (Haitian?) doctor. The omission stands out in comparison to all of the other accents that are done.

Historia
Lucky Tyler Holloway has never felt particularly lucky. Frankly, he's as regular as can be. He works construction with his brothers, loves his small-town life, and shares a close bond with his family, especially his grandmother. Okay, so maybe he has a few secrets in his closet, like his bisexuality...and that other thing he doesn't talk about... Grayson "Saint" St. Claire has it all: a dream job in LA, money, freedom. Saint doesn't do attachments, which is just the way he likes it.

Solid ending to a, sometimes, trying story

Solid story

Only 4 stars because the narration made it difficult to distinguish between voices. Both male leads were played with a southern accent, even though one was born and raised in California. The cognitive dissonance it caused threw things off.

Historia
After my band kicked me out, I ran away to Vermont, changed my name, and kept my head down. So far, it's working and nobody knows who I am. Or who I was. Until I see geeky poet Caleb stumbling through his first open mic night and I can't help rescuing him. He's as sweet as the honey my bees make and sexy enough to make me rethink so many things. But I can't tell him my secret, or I'll lose the anonymous life I worked so hard to build.

Wonderful narration
Revisado: 08-04-24
This was story experience 2.5. The first time reading I pushed through, the second time reading was DNF, and this time via audiobook I finished. I hoped the audio would changed my mind, and the narration was AMAZING, Without a doubt, I loved the characters emerging as individuals. What I couldn’t shake was the feeling that this story would have been written as a MF story, and the female part was subbed out with a guy.

Historia
It’s a good thing Gabe Bristow lives and breathes the Navy SEAL credo, “the only easy day was yesterday”, because today, his life is unrecognizable. When his prestigious career comes to a crashing halt, he’s left with a bum leg and few prospects for employment that don’t include a desk. That is, until he’s offered the chance to command a private hostage-rescue team and free a wealthy American businessman from Colombian paramilitary rebels.

Nothing interesting about the p;it, and the heroine couldn’t be dumber if she tried. Props to the narrator for doing a decent job with what he had.

Historia
Ten years after Simone Payton broke his heart, all Roscoe Winston wants is a doughnut. He'd also like to forget her entirely, but that's never going to happen. Roscoe Winston remembers everything - every look, every word, every single unrequited second - and the last thing he needs is another memory of Simone. Unfortunately, after one chance encounter, Simone keeps popping up everywhere he happens to be....

Ehh.
Revisado: 04-21-23
I have loved and actively sought out P. Reid’s other books. I started this as an ebook and couldn’t finish because I didn’t feel the same engagement with Roscoe and Simone as I had with all the other characters. Unlike other reviewers, I don’t mind the prescient commentary added in, but my biggest issue was the flatness of the characters, I switched to the audio and could not stand the female narrator. After reading other reviews, I understand this is the second female narrator, but I don’t see how the first one could have been worse. I made it through so I know the through lines, and hope this was just a blip.

Historia
The galaxy is doomed. Monkeys may be clever and too stubborn to give up, but Skippy The Idiot Who Got Played knows the harsh truth: this is a fight he can’t win. The odds are not only stacked against him, he was designed not to win this fight. Maybe he can salvage some faint memory of the civilizations that inhabit the galaxy, but those beings are doomed. Doomed. Including the Merry Band of Pirates.

Just right
Revisado: 03-21-23
Although the options for the ending were foreshadowed earlier on the series, the writing and performance kept us (myself and tween) listening with enthusiasm. A great end to this wild ride.
