Uplifting and Inspiring Teaching of the book of Philippians
Revisado: 03-24-25
I like Pastor Morgan's verse by verse teaching of the book. I like the personal stories, antidotes from history and biographical information and his frequent references to hymns and other Scriptures. It was very clear and easily understood. It was a positive interpretation of a positive book of the Bible. I am a better person for having listened to this audible book. Thank you, Pastor Morgan!

Keep singing the hymns!
Revisado: 02-05-25
This was my second recording by Robert J. Morgan. I listened to his 100 hymns that shaped our history. Very inspiring! This one was even better. I like a lot of the new songs that are being written today, but I'm very disappointed that churches today seem to have forgotten the great hymns of the church. I love the stories behind the hymns. Many of them come from broken hearts and they are prayers to God for comfort in troubled times. I was truly blessed by listening to these 150 hymn stories, short biographies of the writers' lives and the settings of the stories. Sometimes the message of the song changed the direction of the writer's life. Like the case of George Beverly Shea. His mother placed a poem on the piano with the words "I'd Rather have Jesus" at the top. God used the words of this poem to direct Shea to enter the Christian ministry instead of following the path of financial success in the music industry. And the rest is history. Love this book! Highly recommend it! Thank you, Pastor Morgan, for blessing us from your pen, your voice and your heart.
