Historia
In the house of Helios, god of the sun and mightiest of the Titans, a daughter is born. But Circe is a strange child—not powerful, like her father, nor viciously alluring like her mother. Turning to the world of mortals for companionship, she discovers that she does possess power—the power of witchcraft, which can transform rivals into monsters and menace the gods themselves.

Revisado: 08-11-19
Performance is great, and the idea that Wheaton was actully president of oasis was a great dig.
I grew up in the 80’s so enjoyed all the references.
It’s not going tk be classic scify but it was certainly fun

Richard Rumelt argues that the heart of a good strategy is insight - into the true nature of the situation, into the hidden power in a situation, and into an appropriate response. He shows you how insight can be cultivated with a wide variety of tools for guiding your own thinking.

Still the best on strategy
Revisado: 07-25-18
Concise. Fluff-free strategy advice. Neatly written and well read. Maybe a tad self-congratulatory, but hey

Graham Greene’s evocative analysis of the love of self, the love of another, and the love of God is an English classic that has been translated for the stage, the screen, and even the opera house. Academy Award-winning actor Colin Firth (The King’s Speech, A Single Man) turns in an authentic and stirring performance for this distinguished audio release.

Engaging. An exquisite review of human love and hate
Revisado: 06-26-18
All was well. Love. Hate. Man and woman and man. Hate to love and love to hate. Such a fine line. He explains with a school level example hot one is almost impossible without the possiility of the other.
And then... God came in. Thewhole god and miracle element ia the only thing preventing it from even more glory than this novel already has. It should be much more.
I especially liked its ability to set a scene, and anatmosphere (blitz, pre and post war) while sending it far intk the backgroudn and isolating the characters and the story from the world aroundit.
It presentes characters as vessels for the emotions that are the main protagonists. Love and hate. Not apart or opposing, but two sides of the same coin.

Historia
Alexander Hamilton was an illegitimate self-taught orphan from the Caribbean who overcame all the odds to become George Washington's aide-de-camp and the first Treasury Secretary of the United States. Few figures in American history are more controversial than Alexander Hamilton. In this masterful work, Chernow shows how the political and economic power of America today is the result of Hamilton's willingness to champion ideas that were often wildly disputed during his time.

Excellent
Revisado: 04-20-18
Like him or not, the writing is flawless, research is comprehensive and tone is neutral enough. He’s not portrayed as a pure hero, and his character shows all the traits of a flawed but intense human.

Historia
Leonardo da Vinci created the two most famous paintings in history, The Last Supper and the Mona Lisa. But in his own mind, he was just as much a man of science and engineering. With a passion that sometimes became obsessive, he pursued innovative studies of anatomy, fossils, birds, the heart, flying machines, botany, geology, and weaponry.

Long magazine article
Revisado: 03-15-18
The book is good. As a biography is less of a fact and date recount, and more of a study of his life and work.
However, the style feels too informal for its aspirations. It reads like a very long article for Forbes, Time or new Yorker.
It feels also like the material was a bit stretched to bulk up.
Enjoyed it. Wouldn’t call it definitive, but very enjoyable.
More pop than lit. But good pop.
