Historia
In this popular introduction to church history, now in its third edition, Mark Noll isolates key events that provide a framework for understanding the history of Christianity. The book presents Christianity as a worldwide phenomenon rather than just a Western experience. Students in academic settings and church adult education contexts will benefit from this one-semester survey of Christian history.

Historia
During the last days of Narnia, the land faces its fiercest challenge - not an invader from without but an enemy from within. Lies and treachery have taken root, and only the king and a small band of loyal followers can prevent the destruction of all they hold dear in this, the magnificent ending to The Chronicles of Narnia.

Historia
Oswald Chambers was a man for all time. His was the mind of Christ and so his words are compelling because they reflect the thoughts of our Savior. I am not the first to say that no book outside the Bible has influenced me as much as My Utmost for His Highest. In David McCasland's book we have, at last, the story of this man's life and how, having honored God, God is now honoring him with the only fame that really matters.

Inspirational!
Revisado: 10-17-18
I’ve heard the name of Oswald Chambers for years because of his famous daily devotional. I was excited when I found out that someone had written a biography of him and jumped at the chance to learn about the man behind the words. I was not disappointed. I found his strength and faith in adversity pushes me to look at my own life and consider where I’m at, where I’m going, and how deep and personal my faith is in the whole matter. He lived the kind of life you would expect after reading his devotional.

Predictable
Revisado: 06-06-18
I have loved every Langdon book in this series but I figured this one out about halfway through. Dan Brown seems to be getting a little too predictable. Still, I have no regrets in the time spent on this story. I hope he finds a less predictable route to take his characters on the next go round.

This is my third Dean Koontz book to read and probably the best so far! If all of his books are this gripping, he has just made a fan for life!

Historia
In Making Sense of the Bible, Adam Hamilton invites us into an honest conversation about the Bible. The book begins with foundational questions such as: How and when was the Bible written? Who decided which books made it into the scriptures and why? How literally must we read it? And, is the Bible ever wrong? From there, Hamilton considers the real questions people frequently ask that continue to divide Christians and denominations alike

Good for history not interpretation
Revisado: 01-16-17
I found the first section of this book to be very informative as far as church history and how are canon came to be. However, I was very disheartened to hear Mr. Hamilton describe removing parts of scripture he didn't like or understand. I found that he painted scripture interpretation with a broad brush and based some of his arguments on assumptions and hypotheses. As I finished the book, I was reminded of the scripture verse found in Proverbs 3:5. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding."

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears.
