this was the best entry in this series.
I would love to see a crossover with the Ian Ludlow books, even though those are slightly more on the humorous side.
Lee is obviously a prolific author who continues to put out good work. considering the pace of his books, they are still great stories.

I mean it wasn't the worst, but it felt a little like something a high schooler might write. just a little amateurish. the plot twist should've felt shocking and wasn't, it was rather predictable.

was it worth the free listen while I did chores? yes.

would I pay for it, no.

this was a fun book, listened to it straight through over two days.

I liked the two narrators, it split the story well.

not as funny as some of his other books I've read, but Lee writes great character development.

another great book in the John dies at the end series. I look forward to every new book by Jason Pargin. I actually like the Zoey books even more. I'm just waiting on a crossover where the sauce brings the world's together.

Not that enthralled

Let me say I love Michael Connelly. I've literally read every book of every character since I first read Trunk Music in 1997. I went back and read the first few before that and have been a dedicated fan since, picking up each book as it came out.

This one was not in the top 20. I actually had a hard time getting through it, it did not keep me interested enough. it felt like he was just meeting a deadline.

the ending makes me wonder if Mr Connelly himself is done with Bosch and ready to move on. it would've been great to go out with a bang, but this was a fizzle for sure.

some people complain that this was a re release with Steven Weber.
my first Harlan Coben book was with Weber and I strongly prefer him. I love that he gives voices to characters. (although several are the same Jewish mother voice as Hester Crimstein lol) at least she was actually in this one.

I thoroughly enjoy Harlen Cobens characters. I wish Steven Weber would go back and do the older ones as well. I don't like the old narrator.
