Historia
Could humans unknowingly be a part of a larger superorganism—one with its own motivations and goals, one that is alive, and conscious, and has the power to shape the future of our species? This is the fascinating theory from author and futurist Byron Reese, who calls this human superorganism “Agora.” In We Are Agora, Reese starts by asking the question, “What is life and how did it form?” From there, he looks at how multicellular life came about, how consciousness emerged, and how other superorganisms in nature have formed.

Super Organisms
Revisado: 04-10-25
A Scientific approach to humanity as a super organism, as the earth as a living super organism. Reminds me of mystical spiritual traditions that see all living things as one…perhaps if we can see each other as one and the same, perhaps compassion and love can win the day as we continue to evolve as a whole.

Historia
In 2010, using a specialized robotic camera, authors Tabor and Jacobovici, working with archaeologists, geologists, and forensic anthropologists, explored a previously unexcavated tomb in Jerusalem from around the time of Jesus. They made a remarkable discovery. The tomb contained several ossuaries, or bone boxes, two of which were carved with an iconic image and a Greek inscription. Taken together, the image and the inscription constitute the earliest archaeological evidence of faith in Jesus’ resurrection.

A more plausible explanation
Revisado: 06-30-24
I loved the humility and honesty of the authors. They aren’t trying to destroy anyone’s faith, but they are giving more realistic story of Jesus death and burial. I always found it implausible that a Jewish man in the first century, would not be married or have children. Judaism celebrates, family and life. And while it’s not conclusive that Jesus was married or had a son it sure seems more likely. As Paul Harvey would say, “now you know the rest of the story.”

Historia
Based on a careful analysis of the earliest Christian documents and recent archaeological discoveries, The Jesus Dynasty offers a bold new interpretation of the life of Jesus and the origins of Christianity. The story is surprising, controversial, and exciting as only a long-lost history can be when it is at last recovered.

Fascinating
Revisado: 06-13-24
If you love solving historical mystery, this book is for you. It’s an honest look at what we can know, and what we can’t know, but what we can deduce about the real historical Jesus and his family. This is an account of a family history covered up for theological reasons as the Christian faith began to take its ultimate shape long after the death of Jesus.

Native American wisdom
Revisado: 12-21-23
I loved learning about Native American sacred stories, prophecy, and philosophy of connection with Mother Earth, We are part of nature and need to return to the sacred mother, humble ourselves, recognize the value of all of life, of all creation, and that we are part of it. When we stand apart and savagely take and destroy without regard to our fellow beings, to Mother Earth, we destroy ourselves. I fear the message will fall on deaf ears. But my hope is that we will all awaken and recognize the wisdom of native Americans, and grant the respect and honor we took from them when we came and ravaged the America’s and the beautiful people who lived in harmony with nature.

A Most Genuine UAP account
Revisado: 12-21-23
I heard a podcast with this author, he seems so humble and so Genuine that I had to purchase the book. It is sobering, thought provoking, terrifying, and at the same time oddly inspiring. We are not alone in the universe. What we do, and how we treat others matters. Loving kindness, non judgment, and compassion seem to be the highest values to aim for. We need to realize we are all connected, all one, and treat all of life with love and respect realizing when we hurt another we hurt ourselves.

Historia
This book is a three-part journey into the rabbit hole we call the nature of reality. Its ultimate destination is a plausible, living validation of transcendence. Each of its three parts is like a turn of a spiral, exploring recurring ideas through the prisms of religious myth, truth, and belief, respectively. With each turn, the book seeks to convey a more nuanced and complete understanding of the many facets of transcendence.

Historia
Experience the evolution of all of Jewish life during the 10 critical centuries from its rabbinic foundations in late antiquity until the dawn of modernity in the 17th century. During this time, Judaism was forever affected by its encounters with the surrounding social, economic, political, and intellectual environments of both medieval Islam and Christendom. As a result of those encounters, new pathways of philosophical inquiry and religious spirituality would be formed. The Hebrew language would find new ways of artistic expression. And the role of Jews in the life of the surrounding community would be changed forever.

Historia
Four years before Nina Totenberg was hired at NPR, where she cemented her legacy as a prizewinning reporter, and nearly twenty-two years before Ruth Bader Ginsburg was appointed to the Supreme Court, Nina called Ruth. A reporter for The National Observer, Nina was curious about Ruth’s legal brief, asking the Supreme Court to do something revolutionary: declare a law that discriminated “on the basis of sex” to be unconstitutional. That call launched a remarkable, nearly fifty-year friendship.
