Historia
Paramedic Connor Haus is good at two things - saving lives on the streets of Boston and holding her past against every firefighter she meets. The tragic loss of her partner, Kam, has left her bitter and angry; her work and fellow EMT Jake O'Harrigan the only pieces of her life she still cares about. Until rookie firefighter Logan Curtis moves to town, and onto Connor's scene, and threatens to rattle the walls Connor has long since put up.

I wanted to like it, I really did....
Revisado: 07-15-16
What disappointed you about After the Fire?
Connor had no redeeming quailites at all -
What was most disappointing about Emily Smith’s story?
The characters
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Margaret McCormick?
Narrator actually did a good job.
Any additional comments?
Based on the premise of the book, and the jobs of the characters, I really wanted to like this book. The story line had such potential, however the complete lack of redeeming qualities of Connor had me struggling to even finish listening.

NARRATOR WAS AWFUL - COULDN'T EVEN FINISH THE BOOK
Revisado: 09-16-15
What disappointed you about Swordfish?
The narrator was ridiculously awful - What happened to Finn's accent? Why does Oz sound like a sleaze-basket? UGH, I ended up asking for a refund.
Has Swordfish turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, I'm actually interested in the story, so I'll end up reading it on Kindle.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Where do I start??? Crazy breathy voice that sounded like she was whining the whole time, unless of course she was butchering Finn's English accent, or the name of the bio-weapon, or....I couldn't even pay attention to the story line!
Any additional comments?
Super disappointed with the author for the selection of the narrator.

Historia
When correspondent Tate McKenna broke her own rules and took navy pilot Lieutenant Commander Evan Kane home from an embassy dinner in Bahrain, she knew all the reasons why it wouldn't work. Long, unpredictable work hours. Extended absences. The dangers inherent in their jobs. Yet after being with Evan once, it was inconceivable she wouldn't be with her again. When they finally have a chance to get things right, danger follows them home from Afghanistan.

Story was good, Narrator was AWFUL
Revisado: 07-03-14
If you could sum up Show of Force in three words, what would they be?
Interesting. Sweet. Fun.
What did you like best about this story?
That no one had to get hurt for the two main characters to realize how much they love each other.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Her voice was very breathy, and the pace was so frantic regardless of what was actually going on. Tate continually sounded like she was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, even when all she was doing was walking across the room!
Any additional comments?
Again, the pace of the narrator was just ridiculous. Good thing I enjoyed the story, because listening to this reader was painful.
