Historia
In this candid and emotional memoir, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff takes you into Trump Tower and the White House to tell the funny, thrilling, and heartbreaking story of her intimate friendship with one of the most famous women in the world, a woman few people truly understand. How did Melania react to the Access Hollywood tape and her husband’s affair with Stormy Daniels? Does she get along well with Ivanka? Why did she wear that jacket with "I really don’t care, do u?" printed on the back? Is Melania happy being First Lady? Wolkoff has some ideas....

Made for each other ...
Revisado: 11-07-20
The author is just as narcissistic and self promoting as the people (Melania et al) she claims to have devoted herself to. I call “bullsh*t”.
Believe me I am not pro the Trump Family nor am I anti Ms Winston but her self promoting, social climbing motives are so blatantly evident that I felt insulted by her attempt at playing up the devoted, selfless friend, sacrificing tirelessly and at her own detriment to protect her ‘bestie’.
Furthermore, in keeping with her self promoting, Ms Winston narrates the story herself. She speaks too fast and has some sort of speech impediment which slurs her words. Bad choice of narrator. Period.
Lastly, I did not waste a credit to have someone - ad nauseam - read to me every possible choice of emoji one can choose to add to a text message. Come on! Are you for real? Yes, Melania and you were friends and you used emojis. We get it. Please stop listing every emoji you’ve ever sent or received. Another blatant attempt at promoting her ‘closeness’ with the First Lady. (throws up emoji)
In summation, I will be asking for my credit back. I cannot believe that I listened to (almost an entire) book filled with the writings of a power hungry, social climber, describing emojis. (gagging emoji)

SORELY DISAPPOINTING!! This is not the story book
Revisado: 03-21-19
My 10 year old daughter and I were so excited to finally have a Raina Telgemeier book on audible. This is her favourite author and she has read all of the Telgemeier books in print version. but this is an interview and not the story "Ghosts" at all. How disappointed my daughter was. Why on earth would you not clearly list this in the description? What child wants to listen to an audio interview? Boggles the mind.

Fantastic
Revisado: 07-15-17
I don't get fooled very easily, and am mostly two steps ahead of the narrative in most books, but there were a few times that I honestly didn't see the twist coming. One major reveal, about the half mark, leaves you gob smacked. Never a dull moment. Written and performed brilliantly. Thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish.

Revisado: 05-07-17
OMG!! What's not to love? This book is amazing from start to finish. Superbly written, utterly unique and perfectly, delightfully narrated. A brilliant story from start to finish.
As an aside, the HBO television mini series took too many liberties with the original book plot (incl. complete unnecessary changes at so many points) that it angered me greatly. Having said that, if you enjoyed the series then buy the book!! It is a million times more brilliant to the series. You will not regret it.

Historia
Catherine has been enjoying the single life for long enough to know a good catch when she sees one. Gorgeous, charismatic, spontaneous – Lee seems almost too perfect to be true. And her friends clearly agree, as each in turn falls under his spell. But there is a darker side to Lee. His erratic, controlling and sometimes frightening behaviour means that Catherine is increasingly isolated. Driven into the darkest corner of her world, and trusting no one, she plans a meticulous escape.

Revisado: 04-14-17
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Kept me doubting until the very end. I was never quite sure which character to align myself with. One obviously wants to believe the heroine but her OCD compulsion, alongside the paranoia, leaves you doubting her grasp on reality. I kept waiting for the reveal that everything is in her mind. On the flip side, all her compulsions can be explained by the horrendous occurrence in her past. Is it all real or isn't it? I will leave that for you to discover.

Different but Great
Revisado: 04-05-17
Like others have mentioned before, the book changes genres about 3/4 through. I read (listened to) the book with an open mind being made aware of this change by previous reviewers. In doing so, I did not feel as blindsided by the sudden turn the story takes as some other readers may have been.
The story is very original and the performance(s) was brilliantly executed.
I most often figure out the ending in advance but I must say that this one caught me surprisingly off guard. Well done and thoroughly enjoyed.

Just Okay.
Revisado: 02-02-17
All things were going well until the end. I found it to get more ridiculous as the book went on and sadly wrapped up completely over the top. The narrator should work on her pronunciation of the name Marco. I found myself getting more and more annoyed every time she would pronounce Marco as Margo. Sounds petty but after the umpteenth time it becomes more than just a tad annoying.
The story itself was quite alright, not earth shaking but it moved along at a nice pace. However, I would not recommend it forward.

A Hot Mess
Revisado: 01-13-17
The only thing that could get me through this sorry tale is another stellar performance by Lisa Coleman.
The main character is a sad excuse for a woman on every level. A fine example of the dim witted stereo type: women who let their desire to be loved by a man trump all form of reason. Childish and pathetic. I have never disliked a character more.
I have enjoyed other Kathryn Croft novels but this one missed the mark completely. The abrupt silly ending was the icing on the cake. A hot mess from beginning to end.

Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She's even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost. And then she sees something shocking.

Fabulousness
Revisado: 12-05-16
I've listened to the audio book for The Girl on the Train in two different languages now and one is just as good as the other. The narration in the English version is fantastic. The plot and flow of the story keeps you wanting to stop all other activities so that you won't miss any of the details. Having said that, it does require a bit more focus than some other easier plot lines as the story jumps quite quickly between characters and timelines. Fantastic all around. I hope that Paula Hawkins has a long successful career and keeps the caliber of writing up to this very highly set bar.

I usually listen to my audio books with headphones while doing other tasks- like wallpaper in the background to my task. With this book, however,I stopped all and sat on my derrière, mesmerized and hanging on every word.
Superb storytelling had me completely lost in Clara's world from start to end.
