This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Historia
This wasn’t the plan. Judge Herman Calvert, 88, never thought he’d outlive his beloved wife, Marie. Yet now he finds himself alone, a grieving widower, desperate for escape from the home they built together, where every turn brings a painful reminder of his late wife. So the judge retreats to his lake cabin in rural Wisconsin, a place where an old man can find peace and solitude. A place where nature can take its course. But something new has moved in.

Poor narration
Revisado: 12-13-17
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I think the subject of the book is very good. In fact I might read the entire book they are discussing. But, this narrator is horrible.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
This question is not really applicable.
What didn’t you like about Angelica Were’s performance?
It sounded like she was very bored with the subject. Her diction was off putting. A robot could have done as well.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Yes, the subject is interesting but delivered poorly.

Historia
Here, anthropologist David Graeber presents a stunning reversal of conventional wisdom: He shows that before there was money, there was debt. For more than 5,000 years, since the beginnings of the first agrarian empires, humans have used elaborate credit systems to buy and sell goods - that is, long before the invention of coins or cash. It is in this era, Graeber argues, that we also first encounter a society divided into debtors and creditors.

Absurd and misinformed
Revisado: 04-13-17
What disappointed you about Debt - Updated and Expanded?
The lack of understanding of the subject discussed. Purely fueled by misinformed Marxist nonsense. Also, self engrandixing.
Has Debt - Updated and Expanded turned you off from other books in this genre?
No. Its my fault for not reading the publishers summary.
What three words best describe Grover Gardner’s performance?
He was fine.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
no. I hope no one reads/listens.
Any additional comments?
No.

Historia
The hidden history of Wall Street and the White House comes down to a single American concept: confidence. Both centers of power, New York and Washington, learned how to manufacture it - until August 2007, when that confidence began to crumble. Ron Suskind here tells the story of what happened next, as Wall Street struggled to save itself while a man with little experience and soaring rhetoric emerged from obscurity to usher in "a new era of responsibility".

Ridiculous version of history
Revisado: 07-03-14
What disappointed you about Confidence Men?
It is not based on any version of what or why the credit crisis occurred. Rather it is a fairy tale of events to try to promote corrupt politicians like Elizabeth Warren.
Would you ever listen to anything by Ron Suskind again?
Never. It took a lot of effort to twist facts the way he did in this book. This author has a extreme left wing agenda.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of James Lurie?
This book never should have been created for Audible. Its bad enough it is in print. Find someone whose voice is inaudible.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Confidence Men?
There are too many to count. The whole premise of the book is wrong and uneducated.

They maybe two of the biggest mega movie stars in the world, but they're also great parents, philanthropists, and just all-around good people. When they disappear without a word from their ranch, facts are hard to find. They live behind such a high wall of security and image control that even world-renowned Private Investigator Jack Morgan can't get to the truth.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Not true, I think the story is great, the narrator was poor.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
couldn't get thru to.
Would you be willing to try another one of Jay Snyder’s performances?
no

Interesting information
Revisado: 07-09-12
What did you like best about What Every BODY Is Saying? What did you like least?
I thought the content of this book was good. I can see how it would help people in many aspects of their lives. Non verbal communication is undervalued in today's texting society.
Would you recommend What Every BODY Is Saying to your friends? Why or why not?
I really think the information in this book can improve most people's lives if they take the time to understand what he is teaching. I would make it required reading in any business. I have a son who would benefit greatly from the information contained here. In fact it might have kept him out of a lot of trouble. I doubt any teenager would ever pick this book up the way it has been written. I think if the author re-wrote and marketed the book differently with the help of a better writer everyone would want to read it.
How could the performance have been better?
The performance was very poorly executed. The material was presented in a very dry boring fashion. I think with a better narrator I would have enjoyed it and learned more. The book is a combination of science and art which is based on anecdotal evidence that are real stories. Real stories are the most interesting and can be presented with more emotion and color.
What did you take away from What Every BODY Is Saying that you can apply to your work?
Without a doubt. I see this book helping people in every stage of their lives. Putting it in simple terms, whether you are a buyer or a seller of goods and services you will become better at what you do after learning the information in this book.
Any additional comments?
Valuable information that has been presented poorly. I would give the content 5 stars and I am interested in learning more. But, the book was difficult to get through.
