Historia
Now with an epilogue that speaks directly to the current energy crisis, The Prize recounts the panoramic history of the world’s most important resource—oil. Daniel Yergin’s timeless book chronicles the struggle for wealth and power that has surrounded oil for decades and that continues to fuel global rivalries, shake the world economy, and transform the destiny of men and nations. This updated edition categorically proves the unwavering significance of oil throughout the twentieth century and into the twenty-first by tracing economic and political clashes over precious “black gold.”

Historia
In the 18th and early 19th centuries, a Native American empire rose to dominate the fiercely contested lands of the American Southwest, the southern Great Plains, and northern Mexico. This powerful empire, built by the Comanche Indians, eclipsed its various European rivals in military prowess, political prestige, economic power, commercial reach, and cultural influence. Yet, until now, the Comanche empire has gone unrecognized in American history. This compelling and original book uncovers the lost story of the Comanches.

A captivating spell binding read you. can't put down. Excellently written. Excellent narration delivery performance. Chock full of carefully culled and thoughtfully balanced research, this book should become part of required reading when teaching US History. After reading this book I have a ,completely different understanding of the goepolitical characters and events that drove activities and decisions that altered created the world we now live in and explains so much of why we still have so many challenges in American society.

Dunbar-Ortiz adroitly challenges the founding myth of the United States and shows how policy against the Indigenous peoples was colonialist and designed to seize the territories of the original inhabitants, displacing or eliminating them. And as Dunbar-Ortiz reveals, this policy was praised in popular culture, through writers like James Fenimore Cooper and Walt Whitman, and in the highest offices of government and the military.

Enlightening
Revisado: 05-11-24
After reading this book a reader wants to learn so much more. the book presents just the highlights of what becomes clear is a much deeper encyclopedic set of stories that are the basis of this very brief anthology of history most of don't know and were shamefully never exposed to. This book is profoundly thought altering. I owe Ms. Ortiz for her effort to start more full educating me and my sense of who we are, where our thinking originates, and how to expand my relationships with the community that is the current U. S.

Historia
It’s London, 2014, and Hal Lancaster, son and heir of Henry, Duke of Lancaster, is in a holding pattern: his mother is dead, his father is dying or remarrying or both, his siblings are fighting, his internship is pointless, and nobody will leave him alone. Everything is as it should be and yet nothing is right. Over the course of a year of partying, drinking, and flirting to dubious consequence, Hal is tested by brutal family legacies, Catholic guilt, and the terrifying possibility of being loved. The House of Lancaster will never be the same.

Story ends very unconclusivly. kept reading vainfully hoping for a point reason for the story. Authors writing talent clear. Hope is next novel finds a purpose and doesn't aimlessly wander - like it's characters - who the author does an excellent job painting.

Historia
A disturbing tale of a young man's uncanny ability to remain both young and beautiful while descending into a life of heartless debauchery, The Picture of Dorian Gray was considered proof of both Wilde's genius and his perversion. Oscar Wilde's scandalous best seller of 1891 was one of the most damning pieces of evidence used against him in the trial that brought about his downfall.
